When they both entered their cottage Gemma had a sudden realization and she mentally face palmed that she didn’t think of it before
“I just realized that if I’m going to be the luminary for a while i would need your powers in order for that to happen” Said Gemma surprising the luminary
“Why would you want to have my powers? I thought we were just trading clothes, i mean arent you afraid of monsters? Remember the slimes we fought the day were climbed Cobblestone Tor?” asked the Luminary still reeling from the fact that King Carnelian was possessed by Mordegon and though he prevented it he still remembered the pain of having his powers forcefully extracted by Mordegon in the original timeline and he didn’t want Gemma to experience something lime that
“Since we’re trading places it wouldn’t make sense for the luminary not to have the powers bestowed upon them by the Erdtree now would it?” Asked Gemma
“Even though monsters do scare me the Luminary is meant to be able to push past their fears for the sake of others” continued Gemma
“That is true but how in the name of Yggdrasill are you to gain my powers?” Asked the Luminary joining Gemma at the table
“Thats it, if we go to Yggdrasill we can pray for your powers to be temporarily transferred to me, i mean since Yggdrasill gave you your powers it would make sense that it could bestow them to me if we were to ask” posed Gemma
“It couldn’t hurt to ask. I mean Yggdrasill does have immense powers so it stands to reason that it could be possible, I’ll summon cetacea so we can quickly fly to the Arboria since it would take days if not weeks to walk there” answerd the Luminary
Upon agreeing Gemma and the Luminary stepped out their cottage and the Luminary began to play the Calamus flute which surprised Gemma as she never heard the Calamus flute Being played before but she found the melody to be beautiful and she knew she would need to learn to play it when she becomes the Luminary, after the last note was played the Luminary and Gemma found themselves on Cetacea’s back though this was no issue for the Luminary Gemma found herself feeling a mixture of emotions ranging from fear of being so high in the sky to excitement at experiencing something so extraordinary as flying through the air and this was noticed be the luminary
“So Gemma how does it feel to fly for the first time? Is it like you imagined?” Asked the Luminary laughing since he remembered how it was for him when he first flew on Cetacea’s back
“I’ll admit that it is definitely a new experience but I’m sure i can handle it so lets head towards Yggdrasill” proclaimed Gemma as she steadied herself
While flying to Yggdrasil Gemma looked off to the side of Cetacea and was mesmerized by the sight of seeing more of Erdrea in this moment than she had seen in her whole life even more than when she and the Luminary climbed to the top of Cobblestone Tor
“Is this what he sees everyday while he’s protecting the world from the forces of evil? If i saw this everyday I’m not sure i’d ever get used to it as it looks so beautiful from up here” thought Gemma
“You never really get used to no matter how many times you see it” said the Luminary seemingly knowing what Gemma was thinking
“How did you know what i was thinking?” Asked Gemma
“Everyone said the same the first time we rode Cetacea so I figured you would also think it, anyway we’ve arrived at Yggdrasill” replied the Luminary
When they arrived at Arboria Gemma was shocked to see a village so radically different than Cobblestone but she heard that the people of Arboria served Yggdrasil so it stood to reason that it would be so different
“Cmon Gemma it’s only an hour’s walk to the alter since it’s the only way to get to Yggdrasil but we’ll have to walk through the first forest” explained the Luminary
Upon arriving at the first forest Gemma was shocked to see so many creatures inhabiting the forest but she was even more shocked to see that they seemed to be actively avoiding them which Gemma chocked up to the presence of the Luminary, after what seemed like an eternity to Gemma they finally arrived at the alter and the Luminary pulled out the six orbs that opened the path to Yggdrasil
After a quick walk they arrived at the heart of Yggrdasill and Gemma was shocked as she never thought she would see the heart of Yggdrasill and she felt such a warm and loving embrace from it
“Ok now that we’re here i guess i better ask Yggrdasill to transfer my powers to you” said the Luminary
“We did come all this way for it, it would be a waste if you didn’t now wouldn’t it” said Gemma hoping the luminary wouldn’t back out now
“I guess you’re right. Oh mighty Yggdrasill please transfer the powers you have bestowed upon me to my dear Gemma so that she may understand what it means to be the Luminary”
With the prayer over the heart of Yggdrasill began to glow and the Luminary and Gemma began to float and the mark of the luminary began to fade from the Luminary’s hand and it quickly appeared on Gemma’s hand
With the light now faded the Luminary and gemma both looked at their hands and saw that the powers of the Luminary had been successfully transferred to Gemma who couldn’t be happier
“Now that i have your powers we should return home to swap since I would feel weird doing it in front of the heart of Yggdrasill” said Gemma
