“Is that so?” she said, trying to keep her voice steady. “Well, I’m sure we’ll be fine.”
But Mr. Johnson didn’t seem convinced. He took a step closer to her, his eyes locked on hers, and asked, “So, are you ticklish, Chassy?”
Chassy forced a smile, trying to deflect the question. “A little, I guess,” she said, hoping to downplay it.
“A little, huh?” Mr. Johnson said with a smirk. “I don’t know if that’s going to save you. Especially in this revealing outfit that highlights so much of your tanned skin."
The boys giggled, clearly enjoying the exchange, and Chassy’s unease grew. Her skimpy cheerleading outfit would make it very easy for them to tickle her. She tried to change the subject. “So, what time do you and Mrs. Johnson need to leave?”
“Oh, she’s out of town for the weekend,” Mr. Johnson replied casually. “It’s just me tonight, so I was thinking I’d hang out for a bit before I head out.”
Rebecca nodded, though the idea of him staying around longer than necessary didn’t sit well with her. She needed to get control of the situation before it spiraled into something she couldn’t handle.
“Why don’t you boys show me what you’ve been up to today?” she suggested, trying to redirect their attention.
But before the boys could respond, Mr. Johnson stepped forward, a gleam in his eye. “Actually, boys, I think it’s time to see if our beautiful babysitter really is ‘just a little’ ticklish.”
Chassy's eyes widened in alarm as Mr. Johnson reached out, his fingers aiming for her bare sides. She instinctively backed away, holding up her hands in a futile attempt to ward him off. “No, Mr. Johnson, please—I don’t want to be tickled!” she pleaded, her voice tinged with panic.
But Mr. Johnson wasn’t deterred. “Come on, boys, let’s give Chassy a proper welcome,” he said with a chuckle.
Chassy’s heart raced as she tried to back away, but the boys were too quick. Ethan and Jake grabbed her arms, while Tyler and Lucas moved to block her escape. She tried to pull free, but they were stronger than she expected. With Mr. Johnson egging them on, there was no way she was getting out of this.
“Please, don’t do this,” Chassy begged, her voice trembling as she felt hands closing in on her vulnerable spots. “I’m insanely ticklish—especially on my feet!”
But her admission only seemed to encourage them. “Did you hear that, boys?” Mr. Johnson said with a grin. “Her feet are the most ticklish. Let’s see how long she can last.”
