X followed the two of them as they continued their jog. His assumptions proved true, Rio wasn't accustomed to her own body after evolution. She kept outpacing Machop on several occasions without realizing it and always needed to wait for him to catch up or run back to meet him. It was here that X found out how he would possess her without getting caught.
X trailed her once more, keeping pace with her. One of the perks of being a ghost was that you didn't get tired as often as others would. You could fly and just phase through things after all. When Rio and Machop approached a hill, the Lucario had easily jogged to the top without even realizing just how far back she had left her partner. Now she was alone at the top and it was here X made his move.
X lunged at Rio, phasing his entire body into hers. Rio didn't even realize what was happening as her body began to shudder at the invader. She tried to scream but no words came out. Her body simply spasmed briefly before stopping.
When Machop finally reached the top he was greeted with Rio once again admiring her new form. He didn't want to say anything instead just opting to feign a cough to get her attention. It worked. Rio quickly spun around to face him, looking as if she got caught with her hand in the cookie jar.
"Oh Mach. I am so sorry." She apologized once more before moving to hold his hands. She held them up to her chest, causing him to blush at the unexpected contact. "Can you ever forgive me?" She pleaded.
"It's it's nothing serious." He told her as he quickly pulled away his arms and tried to hide his embarrassment. He didn't notice how Rio now smirked at his reaction.
"Are you sure?" She questioned remorsefully.
"Yeah...let's just...call it a day." He told her.
"Oh...okay." She answered. She sounded dejected and Machop was honestly feeling kind of bad for how he acted. "Will you...at least walk me home?" She asked.
"Oh, uh...sure." He answered.
"Great." Rio said as she held his hand once more as the two begun to walk to her home. Machop blushed once more as Rio didn't let his hand go for even a moment during the journey. Rio must have been out of it, because Machop could have sworn she was forgetting some things like which street her house was at, but he didn't pay mind to it.
Eventually they reached her home. He was ready to bid her good bye and head home himself.
