Neela picks up the little man

Neela carefully picked up the little man between her thumb and forefinger and brought him up towards her face, which seemed to cause the diminutive figure some consternation. She could not hear clearly the panicked words he was trying to speak, but as she held him close to her dark and still tired eyes, it was clear to her that this really was a shrunken man. The scientist in Neela wanted to know why this poor creature had ended up this small. The woman in her had other thoughts.
