Everything went right(?)

Job finished the symbol he was was drawing with chalk on the floor of the old warehouse he had broken into. The 17 year-old didn’t want to risk anyone walking in on this and was equally concerned by the exact amount of floorspace that it was going to take to do, so he hadn’t done it at home. He checks the grimoire one more time.

“Ok…so…stand in the center of the symbol…” He walks forward until he’s dead center of the pentagram like shape. “And then…brace yourself?” He lowered the grimoire for a moment “The Hell is that suppose to AUGH!” Shooting pain fired off through his stomach like something had just ripped it open as the room glowed with red light. The pain shoots upward, his vision going white for a moment as a pillar of shadow, darkness and…feathers shot out of his mouth…forming some kind of gigantic, demonic Owl…thing.

“Who dares to summon m- What in the world!?” The shadows and smoke reconvene and reshape themselves into…a tall, slender birdlike creature in a tophat. “...You are…far from what I was expecting”

At the moment Job was doubled over on the floor, clutching his stomach before hitting the floor and choking down any pain. “U-uh…right.” He coughed, a single feather exiting his throat. “Y-you uh…You look like the image in the Grimoire. You’re Lord Stolas, prince of hell right?”

“...How old are you?” The unimpressed look on Stolas’s face combined with his dodging Job’s question shook the summoner’s confidence.

“I-I’m 17…Why does that matter, I have a deal I want to make with you, if you are…really Stolas anywa-”

“Your practically a child. Where on earth did you get a grimoire”

“First off, I’m only like, 5 months from being 18 so I am not a child.” Job finally managed to stand up. “I got it off a second hand bookstore’s website if you have to know. Now do you want to hear the deal I have for you or-”

“Let me stop you right there” Stolas held a single hand up. “Whatever you want from me I’m not certain you’re really prepared for what the consequences wou-”

“I want you to kill my stepfather”

“...I’m sorry?” Stolas raised an eyebrow. Most mortals, especially the younger and dumber ones, would ask for wealth or power. “...You realize there are far simpler ways to kill someone.”

“If I do it any other way it gets tracked back to me. If he dies from an apparent act of g-er…well act of hell in this case I guess, it just looks like I finally hit a bit of good luck.”

“Mhm, and what exactly are you offering in exchange for such a task?”

“My Soul.”

“...Young man I…sorry whats your name?”

“Job”

“...Well thats a coincidence. Anyway, Job, I’m not certain you understand what offering that really means” Stolas rubbed his forehead in mild frustration. “It will literally mean, that once you die, even if you make it up to the standards of the pearly gates you’re going to hell and you will be my property.”

“Why the hell are you trying to talk me out of this?” Job seemed somewhat angry. “If you won’t do it theres a good deal number of other demons in this book I could summon!”

“I just wanted to make sure you know what your getting into. Is getting rid of this one mortal worth going to hell?”

“Yes. YES. It ABSOLUTELY is.”

“...Well then, fine I suppose. But don’t say I didn’t warn you” Stolas holds his hand out to Job. “Your soul, in exchange for the death of your stepfather. Last chance to back out”

Job grabbed the hand excitedly, shaking it with enthusiasm.

“...Must be a particularly shit stepfather”

“You have no idea”

Stolas shrugged and his eyes flashed for a moment. “Your stepfather just got into a wreck. Drove full force into a telephone pole while drunk. He’ll die on the way to the hospital”

“...its that easy?”

“For me, its that easy.” Stolas began turning into shadow once again. “I’ll be seeing you when you die Job.” and Stolas vanished

“Yeah, like in what, 30 years?” Job shrugged. “Least I’ll be able to enjoy being without that asshole now”

He did not, in fact, get 30 years. He was hit by a bus in 5 months, in this case precisely on his 18th birthday. Where is Stolas when his new, and surprisingly small, servant arrives.
