Chapter #2

Tiny at the Beach

    by: TinyEthan13 Author IconMail Icon
I decide to go to the beach for a walk, instead of sitting around home. My mom and sisters had gone to stay with family for the long weekend; and my dad was on a business trip. Another reason I want to go to the beach is because my best friend Rachel works at the snack shack. I am hoping she'll want to hang out when she gets off.

I change into a swim suit incase I decide to go in the water. After rubbing sunscreen over myself, I grab my bag and hop on my bike. The ride from my home to the beach is long, but not hard. Once there I lock my bike to the rack in the parking lot and then go down the stairs. I kick off my flip flops as I step onto the sand, enjoying the warmth between my toes. Not wanting to have to carry my bag I walk to the lockers that are attached to the main life guard tower. Just as I shut the door and lock my bag in it tips over. I hear of the contents fall out and curse, but decide I can pick it up later. As I am walking away a whiring noise I know all too well emits from the locker. I turn around just in time to see the red ray of light shooting out of one of the slats in the locker. It hits me, causing a strange tingling feeling to spread through my body. I curse again as I rapidly shrink. This is the absolutely the worst place for such an accident to happen.

At my tiny size the beach is more like the Sahara desert's sand dunes. In the distance I can see giants enjoying the beach. Just in front of me is a forgotten plastic shovel which is sticking out of the ground. It towers over me like a tall building, I realize I can not be more than a couple of inches tall.

I walk a little aimlessly, not sure what to do. I am completely helpless. No one had seemed to see ne shrinking. I will have to go find help. Another problem is that I had not told anyone that I was going to the beach. My family would be gone for another three days and will not know I was missing.

Despite the fact that part of me is terrified, I am fascinated. Not only is this experience letting me learn more about the electromagnetic inverter and its effects, but also I have always wondered what it would be like to be tiny.

I watch as a giantess teenage girl walks right over me. Her legs alone stretch high above my head. I have to crane my neck to see the color of her swim suit, let alone her face. From my perspective the girl's giant bare feet look like they could squash a football stadium flat. Then almost to prove a point she steps on a sand castle, crushing it as she walks away.
