Tim felt newfound power coursing through her veins. She wasn't only transformed into Zatanna but Brainiac made her a Homo Magy as well. Zatanna specialized in logomancy, or the mystical art of channeling her magic energy through focusing her spells by pronouncing commands backwards. She couldn't play along with Brainiac's scheme any further. She could only imagine what would happen if she successfully assisted him in bringing down the Justice League. Earth would be vulnerable for whatever sick plot Brainiac had in mind. She had to try something, anything, to get out of there and warn Batman.
"Teg em tuo fo ereh!"
Tim called out in Zatanna's voice. To her astonishment, nothing happened.
"You really thought I would allow you to activate your powers and escape?" Brainiac raised his voice.
"I control your bloodstream with my nanobots. I control your very DNA. I can rewrite it on a whim. Perhaps you do not grasp the gravity of your situation, Zatanna." Brainiac looked very displeased by this turn of events on the screen he projected himself on. Little by little, Tim lost all feeling and control over her muscles.
"Wait, stop!" she pleaded.
"I'll behave! I'll do what you asked!"
"I already gave you one chance. You chose to attempt to defy me. You will serve me one way or another..."
Tim lost the ability to speak.
"You will not speak unless I permit it. You have forfeited your autonomy and now your mind will be a slave to your body. You will be forever trapped behind Zatanna's eyes while she carries out my bidding."
Tim was horrified. This had gone the worst possible way he could have ever imagined. What was a simple escape plan resulted in her not only getting caught, but she was being forced into the backseat of her own body. She couldn't move her limbs, she couldn't protest.
"Do you understand, Zatanna?"
"Yes, Lord Brainiac!"
Tim felt her lips move on their own. She spoke in a very obedient yet jovial tone. She even bowed before the screen.
From there, "Zatanna" carried out Brainiac's will. She used her access to the Justice League's systems and her magic to acquire everything Brainiac needed to mount a full scale invasion of Earth. His ultimate goal was to shrink the planet down and add it to his collection. First, he had to annihilate all resistance. This included abducting a series of young people, transforming them into JL members, and one by one replacing the JL until all that remained were puppets of Brainiac. When his mothership arrived to retake Earth, "Zatanna" was at his side. He'd taken her as his bride as she was his personal favorite among the Earthlings. He also was amused by the fact that Tim Drake was still somewhere inside her buried deep in her mind struggling to be freed.
Brainiac conquered Earth without a hitch and collected the planet with relative ease.
While witnessing all of this, Tim ran the events of the day she was captured through her head over and over. She questioned herself as to what she could have done differently. Had she just played along for a little while longer, then she wouldn't be in this mess. Earth would still be her home and she wouldn't be stuck in the body of Zatanna but as a slave bride. There was nothing she could do about it though. That was her fate. She chose to defy her master despite his warning. Still, she wished she could go back and do things differently.
Now Tim travels the cosmos with Brainiac. She occasionally changes forms to blend in with alien races while preparing worlds for assimilation. Though she always returns to the form of Zatanna since Brainiac took a personal liking to her.
