Batman - Maid of Might

Bruce was usually calm and collected but she was starting to internally panic. She didn't have any contingency plans in place for the event in which she suddenly turns into a blonde alien woman. Whoever this Kara girl was, her young adult hormones weren't helping. Her thoughts and emotions were all over the place. Part of her was scared and afraid that she wouldn't ever be able to return to her true body. Another part was riveted by the advanced technology and wanted to study it further. It could be the key to undoing her transformation. A third part of her felt betrayed.

When Kal-El introduced himself to the world as Superman, Bruce was apprehensive at first. This alien god claimed to come in peace yet he alone had the power to genocide the entire human race in a morning if he wanted to—and that was if he paused and sat down and had a long brunch in the middle of his killing spree. Over time, Bruce grew to see him as Clark Kent, the friendly everyday guy just trying to do the right thing, not Kal-El the god among men from Krypton.

This technology was clearly similar to the ship that Superman first arrived in. Why would his people create such a device? One that stripped the first sentient lifeform it detected of their identity and essentially copy pasted the DNA of one of their own in its place? They must have truly been desperate to preserve some semblance of their legacy since their planet was going to go up in flames and their government was too busy with its own infighting to do anything about it. She wondered if Superman underwent a similar treatment? Maybe Clark was an ordinary man but one of these pods came crashing down and made him a kryptonian too. Everything she knew about Krypton based on what Clark had told her was being thrown into question.

"Excuse me, miss?"

Bruce looked up to see big blue himself. His cape billowed in the wind as he lowered gently to the ground in front of her. He was even taller now than before since Bruce lost a few inches.

"Are you from Krypton?" he looked at the "S" on her costume and noticed the red and blue color scheme. He would have thought she was just a cosplayer or something had there not been a very kryptonian ship lodged into the crater behind her.

"No, Clark, it's me! It's Bruce!"

Superman suddenly looked extremely confused.

"No, there's no way..." he studied her thoroughly with his x-ray vision.

"You're kryptonian inside and out. Tell me something only Bruce would know."

"You have a pet monster that you feed miniature suns to," she narrowed her eyes at him. Even as a cute blonde, she maintained her stern and serious demeanor.

"I haven't told anyone about that—"

"I snuck into your fortress to steal a kryptonite sample before I first met you. I saw it."

"Okay, let's say I believe you," he looked her over.

"How... how did this..." he gestured to her whole body. "... happen..?"

"That pod crashed outside my city, I came here to investigate. It said that you weren't the only ship sent off of Krypton. This girl was a cousin of yours..."

"Was?"

"She didn't survive the trip. It... made me a clone of her..." she looked down. Her breasts rested firmly in her top holding up the diamond shaped shield with the signature "S" on it. It marked Bruce as a member of the House of El.

"Bruce, that's... that's horrible..." Clark placed a hand on his friend's shoulder.

"I don't why my people would develop such diabolical technology but we'll get the bottom of this and change you back," Superman smiled reassuringly.

"For now I think it'd be best if you came back to the Fortress of Solitude with me," he suggested.

"What about Gotham?"

"Your city has plenty of vigilantes. You trained most of them. Besides, there's already a Batwoman."

"Fine... let's go."

Bruce reluctantly agreed. Clark lifted himself up off of the ground with ease.

"Oh, right, uh... focus on being light," he explained. Bruce nodded and it took a few tries but eventually she began to slowly levitate off of the ground.

"Now you're getting it! Ball your fists and stick your arms out in front of you like this!" he showed her and he took off faster than a speeding bullet. Bruce carefully positioned his arms and he too zoomed after the Man of Steel.

Had this been under better circumstances, Bruce might have actually had a good time ascending into the skies. She was used to not operating with any powers at all and having to outwit her opponents no matter who they were. Before she didn't have brute strength or flight. She wasn't bulletproof, she was just a rich man with a lot of training and a serious case of PTSD. She often wondered what it would be like to take off into the sky like Clark or Diana and now she could.

Her long blonde hair trailed behind her head as her skirt flickered in the wind. She took in the sight of her entire city from above and she didn't need an expensive bat-themed aircraft to see it. She flew after Clark at a pace almost matching his own. Before long they'd flown all the way from New Jersey to the Arctic. How did Clark not get lost doing laps around the planet without a GPS?

Bruce landed shortly after Clark and he showed her the key to the front door. It was sized like an ordinary key but it was made of a hyperdense material that made it so heavy that only a kryptonian exposed to yellow sun could lift it. He slotted it into the keyhole in the wall of ice and turned it with ease. He then casted it aside back into the snow where it made a notable thud. Bruce followed him inside. She'd been to the Fortress of Solitude before but it never ceased to amaze her.

"I'm going to the archive to ask my father about you and ask him how we reverse this," he explained.

"Please make yourself at home," he didn't want Bruce to accompany him if it was bad news. Jor-El had a habit of putting things rather bluntly. He had a backup plan or two though. They could always ask Zatanna or John Constantine for help.
