Yeah, better not to waste time with this - you dial Devin's number.
"Hey man, don't take this the wrong way, but I have no idea how I'm gonna do this thing for you. Jess said she wouldn't help, and honestly I don't blame her for not wanting Stephanie Adams running around in her body."
"Hm," Devin responds. "Well, I'm gonna assume 'the wrong way' would mean you're backing out. And in that case...you're asking for my help?"
"Yes, Dev."
"Be right over!" Click. You have to hold back a groan, although as you think about it, it'll probably be easier to keep quiet if he's here in the room with you.
Either way, he's not kidding when he says "right over." You're only waiting a couple of minutes, since he only lives one street away. "Yo!" he says, knocking on the door even as he opens it.
"So, think of anything on the way?" you ask.
"Well, start with the obvious - someone who can get close to Steph. And since this body-swapping power of yours activates when you kiss someone, it's gotta be someone who's willing to get close to you too. Easier if they want to kiss you."
"Pfft. Yeah, I'm sure there's a line of people a mile long who fit that bill."
"Hey, don't underestimate me," says Devin. "I happen to know throngs of girls who'd like to make out with you. Granted, only about a quarter of 'em can get within spitting distance of Stephanie, but still."
"Alright, putting aside that I'm not doing this for my own pleasure...who've you got?"
Devin whips out his phone, his leg starting to twitch as he scrolls through his contact list. "Right, so. First one I'm coming across is Julia."
"Julia...?"
"Andrews," says Devin. "She's a couple years older than us, younger cousin of my mom. She runs a bar in town."
"I...don't see how that helps us," you reply, folding your arms.
"Oh, that part's easy! Steph's got a fake ID and goes out drinking every now and then. Real party-girl type, y'know?"
You're not sure how you feel about the idea of using someone in Devin's family, even if she is extended family, for this, especially a bar owner if Stephanie goes out drinking. Still, you're reasonably sure it would work. "...I'll keep her in mind. Who else you got?"
"Well, there's Leon, he's on the football team--"
"Hard pass."
"I wasn't even done!"
"Putting the whole 'kiss' thing aside, I'm not putting Stephanie in the body of a football player, she'd throttle me."
"But you'd be in her body," Devin points out. "You think she'd hurt her own body? She works surprisingly hard on it."
"Yeah, but if she thought she wasn't getting it back? Who's next?"
"...Oh! Yeah, what about Sandra?"
"Sandra...?"
"Sandra Talcott! Come on, you definitely know her."
"...Wait, is she the shortstack?"
"You DO know her!"
"What does she have to do with Stephanie?" you ask.
"They've got a couple classes together. And Sandra's not really a social butterfly so getting YOU close to her won't be a big deal either!"
You think for a moment. Julia's a definite option, although Sandra does sound like a better pick in general. The idea of Stephanie thinking a football player stole her body is also amusing, especially if she thinks that football player has a thing for her, but actually getting to that point would be more than a little rough. Ultimately, though, you decide to go with...
