"Wonderful!" The gigantic woman exclaimed, her face bursting into a smile. "I think you're making the right choice. I don't think I would get a minute of sleep tonight just thinking of all of the horrors the patrons of that Inn could have come up with if they found someone your size."
Suddenly, your large companion begins to raise her hand, sending you falling backwards into her soft palm. Quickly, her hand raises up to her left shoulder.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to startle you!" Madeline whispers. "Why don't you ride on my shoulder on the way to my home? I wouldn't want anyone to see you, not everyone in Wallowdale has a terribly enlightened view of forest dwellers..."
Climbing off her soft palm onto her hearty jacket you settle under Madeline's rich, cascading brown hair just below her ear, taking in her lovely aroma.
"Okay, all settled? Then why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself, little one?"
As your gigantic companion began her trek home, you marveled at how a single stride of this ordinary woman crossed such a huge distance so effortlessly. Along the way, you told Madeline all about you, your village and your curiosity with the giant world while she listened rapt, occasionally interjecting with a question or a small laugh. Finally, after a few minutes, you found yourself at the door of the enormous woman's small (for a human) cottage.
"I hope you'll forgive me, I wasn't expecting company tonight (or, well, ever really) so the place may be a bit of a mess."
As the giantess opened the door, you found yourself momentarily plunged into darkness as your huge companion fumbled around for a lantern. After a moment, your eyes readjusted as a rich, warm glow illuminated the modest space. You let out a small laugh as you took in the cottage; your companion wasn't kidding about the mess. Everywhere you looked an open book or an unhung garment lay somewhere it didn't belong.
Once again, you suddenly find yourself scooped up by soft hands, your tiny body quickly deposited amid the dirty dishes and half read tomes littering the enormous wooden table in the center of the room. You gaze up at your host as she removes her thick coat and bonnet, revealing a modest and worn (yet oddly charming) blue dress underneath. After a moment, you gaze up to see the giantess grinning down at you.
"Oh, I'm surprised you think so highly of my outfit!" She chuckles, sending blood rushing to your cheeks. "Ah! Don't feel embarrassed, I'm flattered you like this old hand me down! Besides, looking at you, I'm sure you yourself rather popular back home...your tunic certainly compliments YOUR body..."
Realizing she may have said more than she intended, you watch as your hostess turns bright red as well, averting her eyes.
"Perhaps it's this talk is a bit out of line..." She offers shyly, "At least without a bit of alcohol. Would you like some cider?"
Nodding your head, the beautiful giantess quickly exudes herself to fetch a large ceramic jug from the corner. After a moment, she returns with one glass and a small metallic object, handing it to you.
"This might be a pretty stiff drink for someone your size, but I'm afraid this thimble might be the best I can do." She says, attempting to fill up the tiny vessel in your hands. Despite her delicate pour, you find your boots quickly soaked as cider overflows from your makeshift cup. Smiling, you graciously toast your enormous hostess anyway.
As the night continues and both of you continue to share stories (as well as the beautiful giantess' hearty cider), you find yourself more and more at ease around Madeline. That is, until your enormous companion's jovial demeanor changes suddenly, becoming starkly serious.
"(Your name), I've very much enjoyed your company tonight, but..."
