Raghav moved in a bit earlier than others. His job on the wait staff of one of the city's finest dining establishment, The Alpine, was snagged by a connection through his uncle. The Alpine needed to be ready to go for the city's grand opening, and because of that Raghav had to come to the city a week early to set up and train in his new position. He figured the job would be easy but busy, but was surprised to learn that, he himself had to learn a lot about the menu and what was served, and again surprised that he picked it up fairly quickly. Before the training he couldn't have told someone the difference between a dry and sweet wine, but during his training he learned the basics of serving at a fine restaurant and could always recommend an excellent pairing for whatever patrons ordered.
He was ready to go and was actually excited for the opening. Raghav never really saw himself landing a decent career. For a year after high school, he had really just drifted between high turnover jobs and questioned if working was ever going to "work" for him. Dabbling with streaming hadn't really gone anywhere, and during a recent bout of unemployment his mom, without consulting him, told him that his uncle got him a job. At the time he rolled his eyes, but after a week he was feeling at least a bit hopeful about his future at The Alpine.
The only thing that sucked was his pay. It was high for a waiter, but without tips, which he hadn't gotten for the first week, it was just enough to get by. At least there was a genuine opportunity for him to advance, as there were plenty of management positions yet unfilled and most of the restaurants of the city were centrally managed by Agritech, so there was a large network of establishments he could transfer between to work his way up the chain, if that's what he ended up doing.
What his future held was anyone's guess but for now Raghav was working on the opening night of the Alpine, and....
