Bella was taken to a room in the old farmhouse for the night. The leader of the group explained she would spend the night there until morning. If the scouting party found the mine and decided it would make a good hideout, then she'd go with Robert and John for whatever fate awaited her. The leader left and locked the door, leaving Bella alone.
She barely slept the rest of the night, worrying what would become of her and her unborn child. She hadn't intended to shoot that wolf. It was supposed to be a quick and quiet job, but he startled them and she had panicked. At least there was a chance he'd live, instead of her outright killing him. In that case, she had no doubt she would be dead already.
Come the next day, the door to her room opened and in stepped John. "Good news." He said "Your friends are moving out to the mine. Which means you're coming with us." Bella hardly saw this as good news. "What about me?" She asked "What happens now?"
"Well, my master called home to check on his son. The doc got the bullet out and luckily for you, it didn't hit his spine. Still, he won't be able to do any farm work for quite awhile as he recovers."
"So what does that mean for me?"
"To put it simply, in addition to being used for breeding..."
