You were in your room one night, playing one of your favorite "Sonic the Hedgehog" video games on your computer. It was rainy that night with a bit of thunderstorms in the mix, but you were so focused on your game that the lightning didn't really bother you. However, it seemed that was about to change. During the storm, a stray lightning bolt came out of nowhere and struck your house's satellite dish resulting in a complete blackout in your home, knocking out your video game as well.
You were absolutely flabbergasted the moment your computer monitor suddenly went dark, along with everything else in your house. It was quite a surprise at first, but then, your feeling surprise suddenly changed into annoyance as the thunderstorm cut you off in the middle of your game. Fortunately, it only took about ten minutes before the power came back online and the lights in your house turned on again.
However, the only thing that still didn't seem to work was your computer. You tried to turn it on again, but it didn't respond. You would've expected it to reboot after a power failure like that, but ironically, instead of a blue screen, the monitor changed from black to a strangely-glowing white color. You had no idea what was happening to your computer as it started back up again, except it still didn't respond to your commands, and that wasn't even the strangest part about it.
To add to your surprise, the computer began sparking rather frequently as its screen flickered on and off with that glowing white light. You grew nervous and slowly backed away from it as the sparking and flickering became more erratic. You were about to step out of your room to get away from it but before you could even make it out the door, the white light grew into a big flash that completely blinded you, causing you to blank out.
When you finally came to, you opened your eyes and took a look around, but when you did, you instantly realized that you were no longer in your room. To your utter shock, you were in a different place and there was really something off about it. There was something about this place that seemed familiar to you, but you just couldn't put your finger on it.
