"Why should I? You aren't here to make friends with us... you treat us like animals"! I shouted.
She smiled coyly and stood up, tapping the center of the table with a finger and causing it to shrink back down. Soon as it all retreated back into the disk, she swiped it up and looked back at Richard. Her hands deftly placing the disc back into one of the large cargo pockets on her black utility pants.
"Thats how you think things work then who am I to prove you wrong".
Richard was shocked at her calm demeaner, "what are you even talking about"? He couldn't understand why she would say something so cryptic... why she would simply walk back out of the room and close the heavy iron door. He heard a clunking sound as iron bars slid into brackets on the concrete wall and then saw a small slit materialize in the bottom of it. A large bowl slid through, full to the brim with what looked like dog food, followed by another bowl filled with water. Neither of them was disturbed by the sliding over the polished concrete floor. Seeing a possibility for action Richard raced toward the iron door and tried to bang his head roughly against it. All that happened was the iron door like the floor semi liquefied and then like a rubber band repelled his head back gently. There was no way at all for him to make getting information out of him any harder. They could give him dog food, dehumanize him, torture him for as long as they wished until eventually he caved. No... that simply wouldn't happen... he would resist no matter what they tried. He paced around his cell for a few hours, sat in a corner a few hours more... wasted who knew how long until finally he began to feel sleepy. Refusing to embarass himself on cameras he assumed were hidden somewhere, he ignored the food and finally fell asleep.
Richard awoke to the sound and feeling of his stomach roaring in frustration. His eyes blurrily re-opening to the same surrounding they had last seen. The bowl of food and water still resting where they had stopped yesterday in the corner of his cell. Eyeing them with resentment he slowly rose to his feet and stretched his legs and back. Surprisingly the floor of the cell had not remained solid the entire time that he slept, but apparently had become a soft cushiony material until he rose up and it became solid once more. He walked to the door of the cell and yelled out for real food, demanded someone come and allow him to relieve himself. No one answered his calls, however a toilet did materialize on one wall of the cell. A solid cement toilet with a soft seat of almost liquid material, with a sloping cement hole leading down. He was agitated at how effective their mastery of nano technology was a he relieved himself at the toilet, thankfully only needing to pee. His stomach growled again as his urine slipped down the polished slope, and the toilet dissappeared seamlessly back into the wall. He gazed back at the two bowls and wondered whether he should just suck it up and eat what was provided or simply hold out until he was left with no choice but to provide him with something more humane.
