Veemon sat on Davis's bed, his partner was at some kind of camp this week, so Veemon had the chance to enjoy the human world on his own. The diminutive blue digimon scratched at his middle while it let out a soft rumble. "Hmm, wonder if there's anything tasty in the fridge." He mumbled to himself as he hopped up and started his search for snacks.
While his back is to it the computer in Davis's room lights up and starts on its own, but the basic-level digimon is none the wiser as he heads out seeking to quiet his belly's rumbling.

In the kitchen, Veemon has just started rummaging around in the fridge. He pauses every now and then to sample some food item or other. There seems to be a good selection of rather rich foods in here. "Mmm, good stuff." Vee says taking out a plate with about a third of a medium sized cake on it.
He closes the fridge and walks to the counter, hauling himself up onto a stool before scooping off a dollop of the frosting with one claw. "Yummy" He grins and starts to eat.

The computer runs through several startup programs before a completely black window opens with several lines of code streaming down it. They appear to be essentially nonsense coding phrases, but every now and then it looks like there's a face in the code. Sunken eyes and rounded cheeks peer balefully out of the waves of green lettering, appearing and disappearing as the code continues to flow.
The face coalesces one final time and, a grimace crossing it for a moment, the lights suddenly flicker in the room. The black window with the green code vanishes and the computer shuts down.

Veemon is almost done with the cake when the lights flicker. "Hey what?" He almost shouts when he's plunged into semidarkness by the stuttering lights.
The blue digimon grips the counter pretty hard with one claw for a few minutes, looking around and wondering if he's about to be attacked by some enemy that's just entered from the digital world.
There's a staticky sensation on his skin, but he puts that down to nerves. The cake, just a few bites left now, sits forgotten for the moment as he gets down from the stool and moves cautiously around the house. The weird feeling on his skin didn't lessen as he confirmed each room in the place to be empty.
But eventually, after a second sweep of every room, he had to admit that he was still here alone. "Must have been...a power surge or something." He murmured, his gaze lingering on the darkened screen of the computer in Davis's bedroom again.
His stomach let out another soft gurgle and he rubbed at his middle again before going back to finish his cake.
