Shujin Academy. The school that’s been appearing on the news after the volleyball coach Kamoshida was abusing the team and female students. He had his heart changed by the Phantom Thieves and he confessed to it all, giving both the Phantom Thieves and Shujin Academy tons of publicity.
While this was happening a victim of Kamoshida’s abuse, Ann Takamaki, fell into a depression after her friend Shiho tried to commit suicide when she couldn’t take the abuse anymore.
She was Ryuji’s friend from elementary school, and after the incident, stopped showing up to classes. She hadn’t showed up in three weeks, even after Kamoshida confessed his crimes. She hadn’t even visited Shiho in the hospital after she woke up.
It's because Ann became so frustrated and depressed that she let herself go. Ann began to relieve her stress by locking herself in and binge-watching.
There were several reasons why Ann chose to binge-watch as a means to relieve her stress. The first was the suspension of her diet.
Ann had to control her appetite while modeling to keep her slim body, but it was different now that she had to let everything go. When Ann stopped modeling, the appetite she was restraining was liberated, and the liberated appetite encouraged Ann to binge-watch.
The second reason was the guilt and disgust towards Anne herself. She unconsciously assumed that if she were not beautiful, she would not have suffered from coach Kamoshida. The unconscious desire for self-destruction about her appearance was caused by Ann.
Ann ate a huge amount of food while she was chipping away at her home. Ann abandoned her model diet and ordered large quantities of fatty junk and fast food, and devoured all of them.
Ann spent most of her awake time sitting on the couch watching television in a daze, while at the same time devouring junk food. Naturally, Ann's body began to accumulate enormous amounts of high calories, which began to morph into fat and attach to Ann's whole body.
Ann's body began to gain weight rapidly, but her model agency was not aware of the negative changes that had occurred to her.
It was because Ann had applied for a break from her model agency in advance, and they had approved her application.
