Chapter #2

Derek is mortified at his giant brother & friends

Derek looks up at Adric sitting on the couch waiting for his friends to arrive for his slumber party. Adric is barefoot like always when he’s home. Derek can smell his bare feet, plugging his nose as they reek.

Just then, his friends arrive at the door. Marco, James and Tyson in unison say happy birthday and begin to enter. Dan’s voice is heard from the kitchen telling them to take their shoes off before coming inside. Adric smiles and says house rules, then points to his own bare feet and says take off your socks too and go barefoot like me. The boys cheer and quickly pull off their shoes and socks and enter barefoot with their sleeping bags and backpacks.

Derek notices the boys’ gigantic bare feet and toes and being boys, their feet smell just like his brother’s bare feet. James’s bare feet are lighter in texture, but his bare toes are longer than his friend’s bare feet. Tyson and Marco’s bare feet are more tan. Marco’s toes aren’t trimmed and are dirty. James’s toes are trimmed, but smell just as bad. Dan comes in and tells Tyson to go and wash his bare feet. Tyson huffs and walks off to the bathroom. Derek laughs.

The other boys unpack and spread out their sleeping bags with Marco’s sleeping bag nearly covering up Derek. Marco sits down atop his sleeping bag with his bare feet extended nearly stepping on Derek and the smell from them radiates all around him. Derek nearly passes out.
