Behemoth Bull

(male pokemon pred. mouthplaw)

As you meander through the grass, you begin to hear the sounds of distant footfalls growing less and less distant. Hooves pounding against the soil, it would seem, headed almost directly towards you. Have you been seen? How much does that truly matter? The fact of the matter is, something big is headed your way, and you'd rather not find out why! You begin to sprint through the underbrush, perpendicular to what you think to be the path of the approaching colossus, judging by the sounds its footfalls are giving. Yet as you move, the approaching and unseen giant seems to adjust its path and accelerate. A sure sign that you've been seen. You break into a wild sprint, your tiny body passing between the blades of grass all around you, somehow able to navigate the terrain with less difficulty than you did before.

Actually, now that you think about it, the blades of grass seem to be growing farther apart from one another. Not only that, they're growing taller and taller. You can only conclude that your body is shrinking further and further. You can only hope that you don't shrink out of existence! As you continue to dwindle, the footfalls escalate from being powerful but distant to being terrifyingly and increasingly loud. THUD. THUD. THUD. KTHUD KTHUD KTHUD . KTHOOM KTHOOOM . And then at last they pause. A mighty and warm gust of wind rushes over you, sending you hurtling through the air and landing atop a bent blade of grass. Standing upon the grass, your now-1-inch-tall form is able to make out the figure of an enormous pokemon towering high above you, his head gazing down and angled several degrees away from you as it investigates the soil.

The Pokemon towering over you is none other than Tauros. This bull Pokemon is often seen as a symbol of masculinity, but at your scale and proximity to the beast, it takes on a different sense of strength entirely. At this level, the bull Pokemon almost seems to be some sort of god...and one backlit by the sun, no less! Even as it gazes down below, its head seems very distant...and for good reason. It's over a dozen body heights above you. Its horns are monstrously large. Big enough to gouge into buildings. Actually, they're big enough to be small buildings themselves. Its head is even larger, with a maw easily capable of sweeping you up without the creature even noticing you. Its main is a forest of fur, one you could easily lose yourself in should the tauros lower its head to graze and plod his way forward. Those eyes of his are menacing, and would be even in their default expression, and are positioned well to scan a wide swath of grass and soil below. Small blessing that your form is so insignificant it might not be able to notice you!

The godlike giant Pokemon gazes down at the grass in consternation and confusion, no doubt having caught a glimpse of something moving in the grass, only for it to vanish. The Tauros lowers hiss head down and gazes ahead of it, your tiny form just narrowly avoiding its gaze. The Tauros snorts once more in confusion, a gust of hot air sending you plummeting off of the grassblde and landing upon another bent blade, this one beneath it. You quickly scoot forward and hide in a tiny gap between the two blades of grass, hoping the bull will not notice you.

The Tauros' breaths and snorts wash over you, the yucky saliva and various dizzying animal aromas of his breaths quickly filling the air around you. You might not be in his line of sight, but the scents and the warmth of his air, able to pass around obstacles , have no such difficulty. Your tiny heart pounds as you wait for the giant to trot off and leave the area.

Unfortunately, it won't be so easy. The shadow of the beast grows darker and darker as the Tauros' head descends directly above you. You peak your head out from your hiding spot to see not the muzzle of the Tauros, but an abyss of scarlet and darkness and dankness. For a moment you think it is a portal to the Abyss itself before you realize that this 'abyss ' is in fact the Tauros' gaping maw. Whether or not it has seen you, that won't prevent the bull from snacking on a patch of grass!

You stifle a scream as the maw rushes forward and fully engulfs you, the bovine behemoth's mighty chompers smashing on the grass blades below and severing the patch of grassblade forest you're resting on from its foundations. You cling to the grassblade as the beast's maw snaps shut and the Tauros lifts his head upwards, jostling the now felled forest and the little bug clinging to it for safety. You remain as silent as you can, only letting out a few tiny stammers and whimpers as the creature begins sloshing the now soaked grassblades around in his maw. Crunches sound out from the front of his maw as the bull's incisors work at the grass . Realizing that your only way alive is past those crunching teeth, you brace yourself before running along a grassblade. You wait for the Tauros' teeth to part, then dive forward, making it past them.

You land upon a blade of grass just as it is severed in two , the now crumb-sized fraction falling down into the gap between the creature's gums and its maw. You quiver in fear. Its maw still hasn't opened yet, and you're in a very precarious position. Just a few slurps of his tongue away from getting swept into oblivion...or a failed dive away from getting detected and then swept into oblivion. More crumbs fall into the front of the Tauros' mouth as his powerful teeth gradually prepare them for his belly. And sure enough, his tongue begins to sweep them up. By some miracle you manage to dive off of one grass blade and maneuver to another without being detected, and with a bit more patience and endurance you live love enough to see the light of day again. Quickly capitalizing of of this, you scramble forward and plummet out of the Tauros' mouth.

Your saliva soaked body tumbles down onto its main alongside a small landslide of dirt and grass ,and you quickly find yourself lodged upon the creature's fur. The creature grunts and begins to stomp its way northward...towards a pack of other Tauros. You wiggle against its fur, the saliva sticking your body to it like a weak adhesive. You manage to gradually pry yourself free and you plunge to the ground below...but by the time you have landed, you're practically in the middle of the pack. You can be thankful that domestic Tauros are often far less aggressive than wild ones, but the fact remains that you're in the middle of the stomping grounds of a pack of giant bulls, and your body is smaller than ever.

The Tauros you were forced to hitch a ride with stomps off, and no sooner does he depart than another one takes his place.KTHOOM KTHOOOM. His hooved feet smash hard onto the soil below, his booming footfalls rattling your body to the core. What's just as concerning is the fact that they have stopped. Perhaps the creature is about to graze upon the grass as well...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Try to get the Tauros' attention

2. Hide in the shadow of the beast

*Noteb*
3. Retreat immediately

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
