Two tuber boys bar the way!

You briefly observe the sunbathing swimmer before deciding not to try to get help from her. Once you run this thing ashore, then what? You get out and risk stranding yourself on a sand island when you're no bigger than a pebble? Even if the tide doesn't sweep the ship back out to sea, there's a major chance that she'll just take it home for herself none the wiser that you even exist! Instead, you decide to head forward down the path. Cinnabar will have resources that none of these little islands will. Opting to take advantage of your ship's ability to submerge, you dive down and attempt to make it between these two sandy islands.

Diving underwater, you find that the gap between the two sand islands is, unsurprisingly, quite shallow. Given the size of the ship you should be able to make it, but it will be close. You keep your course as steady as possible and keep your ship close to the surface. As you draw loser to the gap, a large shadow passes over your ship, no doubt that of some predatory bird. Not wanting to risk getting swept into the waiting pouch of a Pelipper, you do your best to avoid surfacing. Yet the sand level continues to rise as you approach the two islands. You do your best to stick to the low-point of the concavity between the two islands, but are forced to bring your ship just to the surface as the gap hits what you hope to be its highest point. You grimace as the bottom of the ship grinds against the sand, but feel a wave of relief as the grinding noise halts. You've cleared the gap!

Now past the gap, you turn your attention to what lies ahead, and quickly make out the sight of a pair of boys off in the distance. Both appear to be early gradeschoolers swimming with the assistance of innertubes, two Pokeballs affixed to each. One of the boys is blond, and the other, a boy perhaps a year or two his junior, has black hair. Tubers. Among the youngest category of trainers one might meet during their travels. They tend to specialize in water type Pokemon, and often hang out near the coast. Dspite their young age and reliance on innertubes for safe transit, most of them are capable swimmers to begin with.

For a moment you wonder if the two boys caught notice of your ship, but they seem too distracted by one another to notice. Beside the two boys you notice the faces of a Mudkip and Seadra, of all thing, poking up out of the water. You can be sure that both Pokemon belong to one of the boys. You hypothesize that the Seadra likely belongs to the older of the two. The presence of two trained water types will certainly complicate any attempt to pass by or communicate with the boys.

You notice that they appear to be playing with a pair of toy boats, each boy playfully trying to protect one boat from the other, while at the same time playing 'monster' with the other. Lifting the boats out of the water , only to send them crashing down. Dunking them. Overturning them. Splashing at them, sometimes even commanding the Mudkip to seize a boat into his maw, or the Seadra to blast away at the other boat. "Hey Ian, watch!" the black haired boy cheers before reaching forward and lifting a toy boat up
high overhead, then slamming it down into the water. From the perspective of the diminutive pilot of a certain toy-like submersible, the boys and their antics are just as terrifying as they are adorable . Perhaps more so.

You decide to submerge your ship for the time being, and catch a glimpse of the lower halves of the boys. The water around them is much deeper than the water around the small sand islands beside you,giving them ample coverage to kick their legs about and swim. Looking over at the boys, you can see the bottoms of their innertubes resting at the very surface of the sea . Beneath them you can see that the blond is clad in red swim trunks and the black haired boy is clad in white and mint green swim briefs. Along with the boys, you can see the lower ends of the Seadra and Mudkip, the Mudkip notably paddling about as it goes for one of the toy boats.


Well...it looks like this is your next chance at human contact. If you want, you could resurface and approach the boys. Alternatively, you could stick below the surface and head south...or veer away from the boys and try your hardest to avoid getting caught in their path. On the other hand, veering far from the boys might make it more likely for a wild Pokemon to find you...
