This choice: Spit at Bellsprout (generation 4) • Go Back...Chapter #5Past the plant and onto the desk by: sneakyk   As you gaze into the enormous Bellsprout's maw, you swiftly come to a conclusion that you'll never be a match for this floral foe in a fair fight. Yet, at the same time, you can't help but think that calling out for help would be a poor choice. That would agitate the plant, which could probably crush your windpipe with a single well placed coil. Given the fact that Bellsprout are known for their surprisingly fast reflexes (for such a slow Pokemon, no less), you can be sure that you couldn't contest it that way, either. No, you'll have to catch it off guard. The Bellsprout eyes you with amusement, unaware that you might have anything planned. It brings you closer, closer to its head, inspecting you with more scrutiny, contemplating whether or not it should drag out its prey's torment or claim the kill quickly.
Its indecision will cost it. You wait just a moment more, wait to get right within spitting distance of its eye, then fire the biggest spitball you can. The Bellsprout, having never dealt with a prey that would resort to such a tactic, is completely unprepared. The spitball strikes its eye directly, causing the plant Pokemon to twitch and shiver. The attack did not have the impact you expected! For a moment, you think this could be it, this could be the end....but in its squirming, the Bellsprout loosens its vine's hold just enough for you to slip loose. You land on a desktop that's big enough to be a room all of its own. You have no time to loose . You quickly sprint away from the Bellsprout, hoping to get out of convenient tether-grabbing distance, hoping to find a place to hide. While there are a few odds and ends such as a stapler and a pencil sharpener on the desktop, many of them are within lashing distance of the Bellsprout. You'll have to get as far away from it as you can.
As you make your way across the desktop, the most prominent feature you see is a large flat-screen computer, with an associated keyboard and mouse. It's far enough from the Bellsprout to put you out of its range, and you could easily hide by the mouse....besides, this would give you a chance to glimpse at what's on the computer screen. A large chair rests on the floor in front of the computer and could be used as a way to help you get down to the floor. Finally, you notice an open drawer you might be able to slip into, where you could potentially find somewhere to hide.
You continue your sprint across the counter, still not quite out of the Bellsprout's way. You've put some distance between yourself and the plant, but you're not quite safe. You can be sure that no matter where you are on the desktop, you'll technically be in reach of a vine whip....all you can do is minimize your chance of getting recaptured.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
