Chapter #2

You are dispatched to a delicatessen

You are collected, along with a number of your tiny colleagues, and placed inside a large cardboard box for delivery. The box is sealed and you are placed on an express delivery van which sets off to take you for a date with your destiny.

The journey takes about an hour, during which some of your fellow tinies talk nervously about the uncertain (though probably very short) future that awaits them. Others sob uncontrollably, desperately upset at the terrible turn of events. As for you? You prefer to keep to yourself, curling up in one corner of the box and wondering anxiously about your destination.

Eventually, your journey comes to an end and you feel your world lurch as the box of tinies is taken out of the van and handed over to whoever has purchased you. You hear muffled voices and are jostled along with your fellow tines as the box is taken indoors. Eventually, the lid of the box is opened and you are snatched up by giant hands. Looking around, you can see that you are in some kind of shop - a delicatessen by the looks of it. You find yourself lowered down into a steep sided tray on a glass fronted counter. You are to be offered for sale as a delicious snack!

It’s pretty humiliating, not to say terrifying, to realise that you are now considered nothing more than food. You watch in terror as giants and giantesses enter the shop, gazing at the displays of food (and tinies) at the counter. Several of your fellow tinies are bought, much to the delight of the customers who pay for them, and you feel a shudder as one older woman swallows her purchase (still wriggling and screaming) immediately after paying for the terrified tiny man.

You don’t have much longer to wait before another customer spots you and eagerly asks the serving girl to bag you up “to go”.
