You know what, you only live once. You would be an idiot to waste your chance to be young. Juliana wasn’t going to put in a good word for you, so you were just gonna do it yourself.
You were gonna ask Nemona out. With newfound determination, you walked through the now empty halls determined to find her. You think through your mind the things you were gonna say, and how was it going to turn out. You are about to ask out the most popular girl at school. Everyone liked Nemona, so your shot might not be the best.
Eventually you found her, at her locker. That green streak in her hair would be impossible to not see. You step closer, and put away any fear. You won’t need that where you are going.
“Hey, Nemona!” You wave at her. The girl turned her head, and wore that beautiful white smile.
“(Your Name!) What’s up? You got class off too this morning.” Nemona said casually. She was so cool, she can be friends with anyone honestly.
“Yeah I do,” You say to her. “A-Actually I was looking for you.”
“Well ya found me~” She teased as she put her backpack on. “I was just about to go to my room though,” She didn’t say it cause she was that nice, but obviously she wanted to be alone in there.
You gotta try, you probably won’t get a better shot. “Nemona... I uh...” This was hard to say as you scratched your cheek. “So you a-are pretty, and nice.” =
“Aww, thanks!”
“A-And everyone likes you, so I was thinking... I like you too.” That sounded awkward, but you were officially in the realm. “And all I want to ask you Nemona is...”
“Yes????” She said leaning in closer.
“All I want to ask is... why do you have a bug in your locker?” Okay, you got sidetracked cause looking in. It was a bug, in a jar, in her locker?
“Oh that. That’s a Hercules Beetle. You know, that they can get agitated so quickly. Two of them placed together will battle each other.” She smiled.
“Okay... where did you get it?”
“Oh there’s this kid called Bugsy. He’s really into catching bugs, so he catches them for me.” She smiled.
“And... you do what with them, make them battle?”
“A lot of bugs actually like to battle, it’s fun to watch.” She smiled.
Okay, ignoring the weird past time, she was still a perfect girl for you. “Nemona... I want to ask you-”
“Actually, this one was one I just got. He’s bigger than the other one I have.” Nemona said. “I was gonna make them battle when I got back to my dorm.”
“Okay?” You repeat, a bit confused. “I-”
“Hey (Your Name), do you like to battle?”
You swear you could hear an ominous drumbeat when she said that.
“Battle, as in a fight?”
“No, it’s completely different, well do ya?” She asked.
Well, time to lie to prove yourself to the babe. “Oh, yeah totally. When I was in my last school, I was a bit of a badass.” Flexing your muscles. “Knocked out all those knuckleheads. I was totally the man. No one would mess with me.” A total lie, but she got the biggest smile when she heard this.
“Really, you do battle! Isn’t it just amazing (Your Name). Oh I’m liking you like 10X more now!” Well, that was good, all because of a lie. “What styles do you know, I bet you know Savate.”
“Uh... yeah that.” Didn’t even know what she was talking about. “I also box, do a little one-two.”
“This is amazing!” Nemona said jumping around. “At first I was a bit worried about doing it, cause I don’t think anyone would beat this guy.” She grabbed the beetle. Her fingers around the jar. “But you can do it (Your Name!).” She was bouncing around in excitement. “Do you wanna come back to my dorm and battle him!?”
Geez, this girl went from cool and casual, to hyper and obsessed with battling.
You feel like you poked the hornets nest honestly.
“Uh... sure. I’ll fight the beetle?” You say as she smirked wide. “If, you... be my girlfriend?”
She was so excited about you fighting a beetle, she might just say yes.
“What? Yeah of course. I’ll be your girlfriend!” She answered super quick. “Hihi, if you win the battle! I want a guy who can battle effectively, like a Champion!”
Before you could even respond to that, she grabbed your hand and pulled you. “Come on! Maybe if we do it fast, we can fit in a second battle before I have to go to class!”
“S-Second battle, against another beetle?” Honestly don’t see it that hard. All you gotta do is step on a bug, it won’t be hard at all. In exchange, you get the best girl in the entire school as a girlfriend.
“I can’t wait to shrink you down!” Nemona said still pulling you.
And this confused you. “Come again now?”

In her dorm-room, you see her place a little battle table in the middle of the room. It was about knee height to her, and she grabbed something.
“This is gonna be amazing, I’m so excited!” Nemona said. “Ready!”
She aimed a gun at you. “No I’m not, are you gonna shoot me?”
“Shoot?” She questioned back. “No this is gonna shrink you down. Down to a smaller size than the Hercules Beetle I got. The two of you will battle, and it will be amazing!”
“Okay... starting to think you are a tad bit crazy Nemona.” You admit. “There’s no way that shrinks-”
She didn’t aim it at you, but at a book and... yep it shrunk down. Your mouth hanging open as you learn it was actually real.
“This is gonna be such a great battle! Tiny boy, versus giant bug. I’m so excited!” You can tell, as for you __________
