Charlotte woke up after a blissful sleep ready to start her day. This was a day she had been both looking forward to and also dreading. Today was the day she had to decide what she wanted to do for the summer. She had limited her options down, but all held somewhat exciting possibilities.
She decided that she could either:
Go to a nature summer camp, where she could go to the same summer camp she had always gone to every other summer. This was her last year to go after all, as she would be starting college next fall. She always enjoying swimming in the lake, hiking the trails, going canoeing, and the many other opportunities the camp offered.
She also considered becoming a part-time employee for the nearby national park. She often visited there and spoke with many of the park rangers. They said the nature was great, but that certain parts were very isolated, and you would see no one all at the entire day.
Next on her list was getting a part-time job at the nearby beach, and being a life guard. She was already certified, and the idea of spending all day at the beach was very tempting, but she knew that this one would also be possibly the most dangerous, as lives could very well be at stake if she failed.
Finally, she considered staying home and taking care of the house. The rest of her family was expected to be gone for various reasons over the summer, so she would have the house to herself, but this definitely was not the most exciting of her options. She would have to keep the pool clean, mow their rather large yard, and clean the house among other things. That being said, since their house was in a very isolated part, she knew picking to stay would mean she could do just about anything and not worry about anyone else around for miles.
