Why shouldn't you test it on yourself? If it doesn't work, no harm, no foul. Nobody else has to know you even tried it. If it does work, however, then you can have all kinds of fun. Imagine shrinking yourself down to an inch tall and sneaking around. That old saying, how people wish they could be a fly on the wall, it might actually be a possibility for you. Not on the wall, of course, but there would be plenty of places to hide, especially at that size. You'd get the chance to hear exactly what people say about you when you're not around. What's more, you could see how people act when they think nobody can see them. Hell, you could even see them in the nude, if you were so deviously inclined.
Shrinking would open up many possibilities, but what's to stop you from growing into a seven or eight foot giant? Hell, why not twenty feet tall? Fifty? A hundred? No one could stop you. They'd all look like children, ants, little specks at your feet. All it would take is a single step and they'd be nothing more than a stain on the bottom of your sole.
