‘I may be getting pretty big but, the woman is right. I really need to recover some energies to exercise. I may even hurt myself if I keep on trying, wouldn’t I?
Could be that I was getting weaker as I avoided good food? Like…like the one she’s giving to me?
Yeah, that must be it. I’ll just keep eating it for a while longer…not too much though.
Just a few more days…maybe a week…only what I need to gather my strength.’
Walden turned toward the woman nodding as she helped him to stand and retake his position on the couch, while giving him a few cookies every step of the way. As soon as he was seated back on the couch, she left him the platter as he began to scarf down the still warm brownies and the cookies. As he began eating all thoughts of dieting and exercising vanished from his mind, replaced with the sinful taste of those sweets. How could he have thought about refusing them? They were so good, so rich. For sure he would get back his strength in no time thanks to those delicious sweets. And then…then he could try again some exercise.
‘Yeah. Will try again…maybe next time…or the following one…’
Half an hour later he suddenly belched loudly as his hands stopped moving from the platter, which was actually empty, to his belly, now as round as a ball, massaging it slowly. He fell back against the marzipan couch he had been seating on, still rubbing his, now rounded, gut while belching slowly as the pastries and sweets began to be digested. He himself tried to look down, to assess the damage but, he felt so sleepy.
As he fell asleep, snoring lightly, the woman emerged from the shadow, admiring the luscious forms of Walden, pinching his stuffed cheeks, massaging his belly taut as a drum.
“Oh, my dear boy. You sure need to grow healthier… And I’ll help you in that. Let Mama Izabela take care of you.”
The witch slowly crept closer and closer to Walden, until she began whispering in his ear with a voice as soft as a lullaby, as her eyes seemed to glow with a faint light.
“Hear me boy, darling little boy. You need to eat as much as you can, whenever you can. Eat and grow healthy, my little, little boy…You need your strength and my food will give you that. Why worry about diet and exercises? Eat and grow healthy, my boy.”
Walden didn’t seem to acknowledge but he began to snore a little more loudly, as his own belly began to grumble as it digested the huge stuffing it had survived.
