Mr. Kintobotnik flew the SCAS deeper into Olivia's nose and went to the roof of the nasal cavity. While he did that, the SCAS bumped into some pollen that was caught in the nasal hairs.
“Today, we are going to learn about the sense of smell!” he excitedly tells us.
We look up, and we see a bunch of nerves lining the ceiling of Olivia's nose.
“The nerves you see are the olfactory receptors,” Mr. Kintobotnik continued. “They are responsible for detecting scents.”
The olfactory receptors react. We ooh-ed and aah-ed as they reacted. The scent they caught happened to be pollen.
While we marveled on how the sense of smell works...
