Mr. Kintobotnik flies the SCAS out of Jessie's nasal hairs to show the class what's caught in them.
In Jessie's right nostril, there were dead skin cells, different kinds of bacteria, a couple of flu viruses, and tiny bugs.
"What are those bugs?' asked Martin.
"Those are dust mites,” answered Mr. Kintobotnik. “They feed on the dead skin cells we shed off. She must've inhaled some by accident.”
Some dust mites flail their legs in the air while others walk along the nasal hairs to get some dead skin cells to feast on. One even walked over the SCAS.
Now that we know what Jessie caught with her nasal hairs...
