**NOTE: I'm giving Gloria somewhat of a Scottish accent, mostly 'cause I think it's cute. If you end up continuing from one of the branches after this and don't want to give it to her, that's fine, but I'm writing her with one. Or, at least I'm trying to.
-------------
In Gloria's case, that tendency happened to hold true. She wasn't quite fat, but years of a hobby that involved little more than sitting around for her certainly hadn't done anything to make her thinner. For as long as she could remember, Gloria had been on the heftier side of things. As she laid on the living room couch watching the match on her phone, her soft tummy rose just a few centimeters higher from the rest of her plush form and shook inside the confines of her outfit a little every time she shifted her position. The rest of her was similarly soft, from her thighs to the bit of fat that sat on her face, puffing her cheeks out just a bit. Last Gloria had checked, her she weighed around 76kg at 152cm tall, give or take, which was where it had been for a while.
Gloria had never really considered her weight to be a problem, or even something to really consider. It never got in the way of anything since she didn't do much that required her to be very active, and no one around her ever commented on it negatively. Even her biggest hobby, the Pokémon League, wasn't really impacted by Gloria's weight at all. She had never really taken an interest in participating in the League herself, really. She was content with popping it on the television or her phone every so often and leaving it at that. In short, Gloria's weight was just natural for her, given what she did and the amount of food she tended to eat.
As the battle on her phone continued Gloria reached for the plate of cookies she'd left on the dinning room table earlier, but her hand came up empty. She'd eaten them all already.
"Ey mum, 'ere any more cookies left?" Gloria shouted, the thick Galarian accent she picked up from her father clear in the way she spoke.
"I think so" her mom shouted back from the kitchen, "but aren't you going to the barbecue tonight? You wouldn't want to fill up on snacks before then."
"Eh? Ain't that t'morrow?"
"No honey, today's Friday."
"Ah..." Gloria thought for a moment. There was no way she was going to miss out on good food if she could help it; but at the same time, she was hungry right now. So it was really a choice between risking food later, or letting herself go hungry for an hour or two.
It didn't take long for her to begrudgingly get up and walk over to the kitchen.
"Are you sure?" Her mom asked as Gloria grabbed an other package of cookies and emptied it onto her plate.
"Ah, 'll be fine" Gloria waved her hand dismissively as she walked back to her seat on the couch, cookies in hand and her plump body wobbling just a bit with each step. She flopped back on the couch and, once comfortable, turned her attention back to the match she'd been watching.
The match was a part of a series of exhibition matches meant to kick off the year's Pokémon League championship, a series of trials that people from around the region participated in. On the coming Monday, hundreds of people would start making the journey around to the region's gyms to fight some of the most well known and skilled Pokémon trainers in the region, before finally being able to challenge the best of the best, the region's Champion. What's more, every trial for every competitor was televised across the Galar region and even to a few places outside of it. Most workplaces even had a way to either watch it at work or let people take the week off to watch, and pretty much every school considered it a holiday. In short, it wasn't just the biggest event in the Pokémon League, it was the biggest single event in all of Galar.
The exhibition match Gloria happened to be watching was a recording Gloria had made of the final match of the day, which just so happened to involve The League's current champion, Leon the Unbeatable.
Gloria wasn't one to call herself a fan of much, but she definitely would admit that she's a fan of Leon. He had zero losses on record, hence the nickname, and his skill at battling made it clear that it wasn't a fluke. He was good, to the point where most of him matches were a sight to behold. Of course, as much as Gloria admired Leon's skill, she was no where near his biggest fan. No, that title would have to go to someone else that she just so happened to know very well.
As the match reached it's peak, and Gloria polished off her second plate of cookies, she suddenly heard the front door open as a certain fan of Leon's walked into the entryway. It was Gloria's friend, Hop.
Now, when Gloria looks over the back of the couch to look at him, what does she see?
