In Dani's mind, Haley had always been a walking-talking landfill.
That was kind of how these jumps worked. It had taken a few decades to figure it out, but the reality that Haley found herself in had always been subtly changed by the additional weight that she would put on over the course of each rotation. Just like the car that she drove, her clothes (relatively) growing alongside her at the beginning of each go, to people's memories of her. Sometimes it changed things in ways that she hadn't expected—her boyfriend... what's his name... had slowly gone from an aspiring rock star to an aspiring baker to an out and out feeder who was often blamed for whatever disparity in weight that anyone could recall. But this far into these loops, and Haley had just sort of accepted the fact that everyone remembered her as an excessively obese middle schooler and high schooler. But in Dani's defense, Haley had been an enormous, greedy stomach on two legs with an ass that could fill a couch for far longer than Dani could have possibly remembered, so it's not like she was incorrect in saying that Haley had been a greedy guts for their entire lives.
But reconnecting with Dani was on the top of the list for this go 'round. And as always Haley was happy to haul herself through both double doors and park herself across an aisle of metal chairs that squeaked and groaned upon being overloaded with her heaping helpings of ass. How long had it been since she'd been able to fit in that dinky little corner booth? To think that she used to sit there—where was everything else but her ass supposed to sit?
Eight hundred pounds of woman was enough to get everyone in the more-or-less empty diner staring—except for one Doughy Dani.
"Haley? Is that you?" the plump goth gal said with a genuine smile on her face, "Holy shit, it's been forever!"
Again. Little changes. Haley always being humongous meant that she and Haley got along a little better in a past that Haley couldn't remember. It couldn't stop Dani getting picked on, of course (some things, Haley had learned, had to stay constant) but it meant that Dani started most of these runs without much animosity towards her. Which, as Haley got bigger with each go 'round, had certainly come in handy. Huffing and puffing through her points was exhausting, and Dani's fat little ass could only haul so much food back and forth.
"Yeah, it's been a long time." Haley said with all of the enthusiasm of a skipped cutscene, "Listen, hey, are you gonna go on lunch soon?"
"Y... Yeah?"
"Good—before you do, get my order in though. I want eight triple bebop burgers with chili and onions and three plates of Bacon Cheese fries with... fuck, do y'all have like a gallon of sweet tea that I could borrow?"
"Uh... let me write that down..."
Fucking white trash waitress. Goddammit. Haley had come to hate how sloooooooow everyone else was when she asked for stuff. You would have thought after centuries she would have learned patience, but her first few weeks were almost always unbearably similar. Especially when she had seen all the various ways that Dani could prove herself to be useful...
Siiiiiiiiiiigh...
Day Three Haley, you're on Day Three...
"Okay so that's... eight triple bebops with chili and onions and three plates of Bacon Cheese fries?"
"And lots of sweet tea. Shit tons of it." Haley's neck tire flexed as she nodded, "And you come sit down. We've got lots to catch up on."
"We sure as hell do..." Dani looked the humongous Haley up and down incredulously, "I knew that Freddy liked bigger girls Hale, but jeez!"
Good ol' Dani. Never change.
"Yeah, yeah, plop that big butt across the seat, wouldja? I've got a proposition for you."
Most of the time, in addition to the weight, it was Haley's attitude that caught people off-guard. It was often the "big change" that was written off by the people in her life, now that her weight had reached such highs that bigger numbers were hardly shocking anymore. Like sure, she always came back from Charleston fatter, but what was a hundred pound gain from 700 pounds, you know? No, Haley's direct and to-the-point style of speech surprised certain figures in her life—and Dani, who respected that, was often one of the easiest recruits to her side.
"Okay, I'm listening." the legs of the chair scraped against the linoleum floor as Dani plopped down, "What's up?"
