Haley had never been much of a gamer before this whole thing started. But she'd played a few back in high school that she remembered pretty well. And it was always weird coming back to the beginning, knowing what you did at the end. It was like that watching movies or reading books Not that Haley ever reached the end of her life (or for that matter, read a lot of books), of course, just...
Ugh, this was so hard to explain.
But like... did you ever see the movie Groundhog Day? Where Bill Murray's character is stuck repeating the same day over and over again? It was kind of like that. Except Haley got to relive about ten years of her life before things snapped back to her first day home, like nothing had happened.
Well... not exactly back to normal.
You see, Haley spent those first ten years getting fat. Not just fat, huge. Her mama had spoiled her rotten and let her do whatever she wanted. And for a lazy lady like Haley, that meant eating and eating and eating—until she was literally so fat that she couldn't move on her own. And when she snapped back to her first day home, some of that weight had come with her. As if she had gotten so fat that even getting shifted back in time couldn't shed it all away.
But before we start to talk about the Never-Ending Life of Haley... how many times has this happened?
A) Just once, so she's just a little chunky. She's packing an extra thirty pounds at the most, but Haley is experiencing some serious deja vu. But a chance to be thin again might be too good to pass up! Here's hoping that all of the bad habits that she's picked up don't wind up affecting her this early in her story...
B) A few times, and she's got the heft to show for it. Haley is coming home with, like, three different decades' worth of getting fat and she's going a little nuts trying to figure it all out. Coming home at just under three hundred pounds, Haley is more desperate than ever to figure out just what she's supposed to do to break this thing...
C) A lot and it's made her huge. Haley can barely fit through the front door on Day One of yet another Life of Haley, and she's officially just having fun with it now. She's seen it all, and knows the ins and outs of her friends and her mama and Spartanburg... everything! Nothing surprises her anymore, so she might as well just speedrun yet another Life of Haley and see what crazy shit happens to her...
