Stephen saw the tiny black beauty look up at him, startled. She began to run. Stephen quickly reached down and wrapped his giant fist around her, her tiny head poking out the end. He brought her closer to his face for inspection.
“What... who are you...”
“My name is Rashida. And I don’t like being grabbed. Put me down.”
As the tiny woman complained, Stephen saw motion on the ground. Two other tiny women were watching from a short distance, both wearing the same silver suits.
“Are those your friends?”
“Yes. Now put me down so I can get back to them.”
Stephen ignored Rashida’s request to be freed and quickly shoved her into his jacket pocket. He quickly darted towards the other women and reached out with both hands before they had time to react. His left hand quickly wrapped around a chubby blonde, his right hand around a tiny Asian woman. He transferred the blonde into the hand with the Asian, easily able to hold both women. His left hand went into his pocket and fished out Rashida.
“How did you get so small?”
“Put us down now!”
“I’m not putting you down until I know what’s going on. People aren’t six inches tall. This doesn’t make sense.”
“We were shrunk a few weeks ago as part of an experiment,” the blonde spoke up. “You have to help us!”
“Shut up Claire! We don’t know if we can trust him!”
“Who shrunk you?”
“We don’t know. We were at a club celebrating Kim’s birthday, and we woke up in a cage. We were able to escape and we’ve been foraging for food.”
Stephen looked back at Rashida. “And you saw food here?”
“No. Someone had emptied an ash tray near that car if you must know, and my goal was to figure out how to get some loose tobacco to make makeshift cigarettes.”
“That was me,” Stephen replied. “I can give you food and a cigarette if that’s what you want. Of course it’ll all be huge compared to you.”
“Fine, hook us up and let us go,” Rashida responded.
