Super Mario Bros. is the most iconic video game series in video game history, with the series' star frontrunner, Mario being the most iconic video game character in history.
Since his debut in the original Donkey Kong arcade game in the early 1980's, Mario has grown exponentially from a fictitious plumber climbing up structures to save the damsel from a giant gorilla, to a fan favorite and Nintendo's commercial success, pumping out very well-known games such as Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World, and Super Mario 64 to name a few.
In the 1990's, Super Mario introduced a franchise of long-running spinoff games, from party games such as Super Mario Party, to racing kart games such as Super Mario Kart, to even later games focusing primarily on different main characters such as Luigi's Mansion, Super Princess Peach, and the different Wario games. Not only does the franchise publish well-received games, but it has also release popular characters such as Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Daisy, Bowser Jr. and many more.
In this route, since the number of young male characters in the Super Mario Bros. series is lax, the first few options will feature a couple of the male characters that does appear in the series, including the younger versions of the Mario characters appearing in the Yoshi series (i.e. Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Bowser, etc.), Bowser Jr. and a few of the Koopalings (i.e. Lemmy and Iggy), and the characters appearing the Paper Mario series (i.e. Twink, Goombario, Koops, etc.)
The fourth route will features Original Characters Slots open for anyone who wish to create their own original character to be placed in the Super Mario Bros. series.
