The boy is an original character and non-canon to the main DC Comics storyline.

Choose one of these story routes you want to focus on...

The Shrunken Son of Man's World: The boy is on a passenger flight overseas with his family as it flew over the Bermuda Triangle, which was experiencing a strange lightning storm. The storm also sent out strange electromagnetic pulses, which activated the boy's meta-gene, shrinking him down to the size of one-inch right before the lightning struck the plane. The lightning also struck the window of his seat, sucking the boy out into the sea as the plane crashed down into the sea. He eventually drifts to the shores of Themyscira, home to the Amazons and Wonder Woman!

The Supernanny: The boy is born to a couple of scientists working in STAR Labs. Born tiny because of his parents' continued exposure to the radiation of STAR Labs technology and the fumes of the experimental chemicals, the boy made the national headlines for his abnormal size. The STAR Labs scientists hired a nanny to watch over the boy, either knowing that the nanny is a superheroine, or an infamous villainess with the intention to kidnap him. The boy's future as hero or villain in ambiguous.

The Katarthan Kid: The boy is a member of the Katarthans, a six-inch race of alien humanoids who crash-landed in the Amazon Rainforest seen in the six-issue miniseries, Sword of the Atom. When the Katarthans were eradicated by a fireball during a fight between Ray Palmer/The Atom II and seven Brazilian drug runners, the Katarthan boy was the only survivor. He wandered the Amazon rainforest for many weeks until he came across a giant woman, either a native Brazilian or a foreign visitor.

The Black Fly: The boy is a troubled delinquent who took to snatching in the streets of Washington D.C. and evaded police. In order to make a better living, the boy joins the museum tour of the Justice League's Hall of Justice and decides to steal and sell off the collected trophies of the League's various adventures, including Atomica's malfunctioning shrinking belt. That night, the boy sneaks into the Hall of Justice and snatches a few of the trophies, but he is discovered by the female members of the League, so he uses the shrinking belt to escape, only to be permanently shrunk. He is either caught and at the mercy of the Justice League giantesses, or he escapes but is sought by the giant villainesses.
