“Fine, let’s divvy these out,” Judy said, trying to turn the conversation back to the game. She placed the four pieces in the center of the group. “I can’t have the pom-pom. Lindsey,” she continued before anyone could dispute her again, “you can’t have the choker.”
Lindsey tilted her head. “You mean the belt?”
“What? No, it’s a choker.”
“I dunno, babe. Kinda looks like a belt to me.”
Judy stared wide eyed at her boyfriend, and did everything in her power not to wildly gesture at the choker currently sitting around her neck. But she’d already incidentally started one argument, and she didn’t want to intentionally set off another one. Instead, she took a deep breath, and continued on. “Alright, fine. You can’t have the ‘belt’. And babe, you can’t have the football. Make sense?”
The group nodded silently, as they each eyed the pieces available to them. Then one by one, they took their picks.
