Chapter #6

Music: Traditional Mode.

"Let's just do the 'Traditional' mode. I'm really not in the mood for having to learn something new right now" Judy said, cuddling in close to Peter and getting cozy under his large, muscled arm.

"Yeah, who even knows what it would be like anyway. How would you get 'Immersive' with like, a karaoke machine anyway?" Lindsey nodded in agreement.

The two males were either too busy getting cozy with/ogling their crushes to really do anything by mutter in agreement.

"Okies!" Lindsey bent over in front of Eugene and pressed the large black button that had 'Traditional' stenciled on it, pushing it back down into the machine which began whirring and clacking. Lindsey leaned back and without warning began lowering herself down towards Eugene's chair, and the overweight nerd as forced to sit up straighter and scooted back as the skinny blonde's small booty plopping down between his legs. Then the blonde LEANED back and rested up against Eugene's flab, and the geek was reduced to a reddening mess that was desperately trying not to pop a boner into Lindsey's back. The rainbow-blonde pushed herself further onto Eugene as she stared innocently at the machine as it processed.

"I wonder if we'll need, like, microphones or something though? I've, umm, got a couple of headset up in my room..." She wondered out loud, scooting back just a hair more and trying not to break character as she felt her toy tense up even more from the slightest touch. But then the machine chittered to itself for a moment before there was a loud SPROING and four small cylinders rose slowly from the game's plastic surface, each with a small, grid lined globes.

"Dude, this thing had microphones built into it!" Peter exclaimed in amazement, "Geno, this thing is so cool. I wonder what else it can do?"

"Who knows, but right now..." Lindsey popped up from her seat and Eugene visibly, if silently, relaxed as she collected the four audio input devices. She turned and handed one to Eugene, giving his tomato-red face a playful wink before bouncing around the coffee table and handing two more to Peter and Judy...Who fixed her friend with a knowing look, and receiving a quick stuck out tongue in return.

"Okay...I think we're ready? I wonder what do we do now?" Peter said, and in return the game buzzed once more, a tiny screen near the middle of the machine blinking 'TV INPUT REQUIRED'.

"Huh? Oh..." Lindsey looked at the currently off TV that hung on the dorm wall. The students hadn't turned it on in the weeks since the Pandemic hit, mainly because all it played were the local news station, the college news station, and CNN. With a shrug, shepicked up the machine, letting out a quiet 'oof' at the deceptively heavy chunk of plastic and moved it over to the inactive television.

"Do Eugene, do you, um, have any adapter cables? I think we need to run some AV cable through a co-ax and then use my HDMI adapter to fit it into the back here" Lindsey said, setting the game machine down on the shelf that sat under the TV and was filled with such educational VHS titles as 'The Economic Process of the Soviet Union circa 1974' and a well used DVD of 'Shrek 2' that clearly hadn't been moved for at least four years.

"Huh? I mean..." Eugene blinked dumbly at Lindsey's question. What was a co-ax cable? And then even MADE adapters for the old red/yellow/white cables? But he didn't want to look stupid and was about to answer when the TV flickered on by itself.

"WOAH!" Lindsey cried, taking a step back from the machine in caution while similar noises came from her three friends. After a moment of flickering, a pixelated logo appeared on the flatscreen, a twisting map of pathways the curved in and around each other before terminating into a empty circle in the middle, within which were the words 'Morphmanji Entertainment System'. The TV speakers spat out a short, very chip-tune-esque fanfare before two more buttons popped up on the machine's surface, and Lindsey could have sworn she hadn't seen any openings or any grooves in the plastic that may have appeared to be an opening.

On them were the word "Head to Head" and "Team Game". The blonde relayed this information to her friends.

"Well, I kind of wanted a team game..." Judy said, curling a finger around Peter's ripped abs, staring up at him dreamily.

"Hmmm, maybe since you and Eugene can't, like, sing, maybe we should do, like, Head to Head so me and Judy get to play against each other?" Lindsey said with a smirk.

"Hey!"

"Sorry Petey, but I've heard you sing in the shower, you're no Whitney Houston" Lindsey stuck her tongue out again, and Peter just shared a look with Judy and Eugene. Judy scrunched her face into a dramatic scowl for a moment, before giving Peter a nod and a shrug, breaking out into a smirk. Eugene simply looked away, not wanting to answer.

"Well, I think I'M a good singer" Peter pouted.

"CHOOSE GAME TYPE" A accented female voice said from the TV speakers, and after a moment, the group chose...
