Eugene typed in ‘Education’ with a few light touches on the keyboard and not-inconsiderable flourish. Judy was kinda right about the schlock, and he had a bit of a soft spot for hamfisted learning-games — elementary computer lab had kinda forced that.
‘SUBTYPE SELECTED: EDUCATION’ droned the metal box.
“Ha! Looks like I have the best taste.” cheered Judy.
Peter frowned. Sure, he wasn’t one of those dumbass, frat-party jocks — despite his best attempt at being the latter part — but playing a game that purported itself as ‘Educational’ was not his best idea of a good time. Still, if Judy was happy, he was; and judging by the black-painted smile being aimed at him, she was.
“You’re more of a nerd than a goth, babe,” he murmured, planting a kiss on the top of her purple-locked head.
“Hey!” squawked Judy, lightly slapping her boyfriend’s arm. “I’m the ideal goth!”
“Uh, guys?” Eugene’s voice cut through yet another playful couple fight. “There’s, uh, a ‘Scenario Choice’ next.”
He read the screen as the room listened intently, Peter trying his very hardest not to yawn.
