It was hard work, but you had actually managed to get a job in an office. Some offices had begun a sort of 'affirmative action' hiring plan, and you'd gotten in just in time. Now you were a marketing consultant at a mid-sized software company called 'Skirvin Software'. Your job consisted of answering your tiny-sized phone to help your colleagues, as well participating in regular marketing meetings.
It was Monday, the start of a long and grueling day at the office. That would be true for even a normal person, but you had a special case to complain. As one of only a handful of tiny employees at this office, work was harder in just about every way. Virtually no special accommodations had been made for you and your tiny stature, aside from your tiny desk and phone, the former of which you were pretty sure was taken from a toy set. Regardless, you began the day with the usual calls. You would often talk on the phone with Anita, who would ask you pretty much every question possible in regards to her job. She was new as well, but unlike you, marketing seemed to be an abstract concept for her. But you liked Anita, and she seemed to like you. After all, she was the only woman in the office who didn't constantly 'mistakenly' squish you.
Sure enough, you picked up the phone and it was Anita.
"Hi Aaron! Look, I just had a question about yesterday's meeting." Anita said.
"Sure Anita, go ahead." You groaned.
Anita proceeded to ask a plethora of questions, which you answered in the nicest way you could manage. Eventually, she began to wrap things up.
"Ok, thanks again, Aaron!" Anita said cheerfully.
"No problem." You said, rubbing your temple.
"Wait, before you go, I just have one more thing to ask." Anita said quickly.
"Yes?" You said, nearly about to snap.
"Do you wanna go to lunch with me?"
The question took you off guard. It was the first olive branch that anyone at this office had offered you. Everyone else just seemed to barely tolerate you. You considered your reply.
