Because in the grim darkness of the far future there is only choice chapters.

Option #1: Similar to the last set, Maria gets fat because one of the strange weapons of the Dark Eldar hits her.

Option #2: During a battle a Warp rift opens up, sending Maria to a previously unknown planet. The local fruit of the planet while edible is very fat inducing
