This choice: Brenda helps find some acceptable food for Brad while they wait out the time. • Go Back...Chapter #4Brad has lunch as Brenda makes a proposal by: Cardio "This is the scientific breakthrough of the century!" Brenda said as she enthusiastically was cutting away at some fruit in the kitchen. "Think of it, we can truly experience the lives of animals, understand their mentality and motives in ways thought impossible until...well minutes ago!"
Karen smiled at her sister's enthusiasm as she sat at the counter with Brad in her lap letting him get an up close and personal view of her new blonde hair and enhanced breasts. "I guess so. And reading through the menus it looks like there are even options to effect how much of the animal personality you want to put onto yourself. Brad here is still mentally 100% human which probably explains why his tail seems to be going absolutely berserk." Karen said as she felt Brad's tail slap her face for what felt like the 10th time.
Brad looked up at his wife and tried to give an apologetic sad look, Karen laughed, "I could never be mad at that face. You make for the cutest little spider monkey." Karen gave Brad a quick kiss on the lips.
"Depending on the experiment I would run having 100% human thoughts would be beneficial. I'd love to run tests to see how a monkey with a human mind would get along with a group of monkey's at the zoo, or even better, the wild!" Brenda had a sparkle in her eyes as she daydreamed of such scenarios, but Brad brought her out of it with a disapproving yelp.
"Brad's right sis," Karen said, "I think we both support the idea of perhaps helping you with some experiments, but sending Brad to the zoo or the jungle is out of the question. That's way too dangerous."
Brenda looked at the two as though she'd come crashing down to Earth, disappointed but understanding. "Of course, we wouldn't want to run such a drastic test," Brenda said as she thought to herself with a smile, 'Yet.' She walked up to the two and put a bowl of cut up fruit in front of Brad, "This should be good for you current bodies diet, and for some nice protein..." Brenda dug into her work bag and pulled out a plastic baggy with some little black things in it and sprinkled it on top of the fruit. Brad picked up a piece of watermelon and was about to put it in his mouth when he saw that one of the little black pieces had legs and dropped it while making a noise of disgust.
"Don't be like that Brad, it's just some bugs. If it makes you feel better they are already dead. They are a primary source of protein in primates of your species. I mean, it's not like you've ever seen a monkey eating a fancy steak have you?" Brenda said wagging her finger.
'Yeah, that makes me feel soooo much better.' Brad thought as he reluctantly picked up the dropped fruit and with his wife and sister in law giving him an anticipatory look he put the crunch fruit in his mouth and tried to pretend the crunchy parts were just sprinkles or something before swallowing.
"Don't worry Brad, you won't have to get used to them. We'll turn you back the second we can tomorrow when the Booth deems it safe for you to go through another major change." Karen said picking up a piece of fruit and offering it to Brad who was hungry enough to continue eating the bug sprinkled fruit.
"Yes, you two have your own fun with the Booth, but if it's ok with you, next weekend would you be willing to participate in a test or two? I really have so many ideas for experiments I can run to gain a better understanding of animal thought and behavior."
Karen and Brad looked at each other, "I don't know about you, but I think it sounds pretty fun and exciting." Brad nodded in agreement.
"Fantastic! I'm going to go come up with as many scenarios and experiments that I can run safely on the farm!" Brenda said as she already began to jot down some excited notes for next weekends experiment. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
