Dimitri didn't know how to feel once Edelgard's eyes locked onto him. For a moment, it seemed she knew exactly where he was, yet he couldn't particularly read her expression. It was if her eyes had glazed over in indecision and deep contemplation. As soon as the two locked eyes, Edelgard snapped her eyes back up at Mercedes.
"Well, if you insist." The princess put on a smile, diplomatic yet warm, and Mercedes was happy enough to return one, not knowing the fate that she had just sentenced for the young prince of Faerghus. "Um, thank you for your kindness."
"Anytime!" Mercedes chirped before swiveling on her heels and heading far off. Edelgard watched in a patient silence, still wondering what to do with the shrunken prince in her grip.
Edelgard shut the door behind her and took a few painful steps to her desk and set the plate down.
Dimitri found himself at the edge of the cookie's plateau, finding a gap that's much too large to drop from. If he survived the fall, his legs would more than likely be broken. he turned his gaze skyward at the princess high above, finding her godlike gaze back down on him. This time, however, he found it hard to doubt those purple eyes were focused on anything but him.
"I'm sorry, Dimitri." Her voice boomed, yet it was flat, detached from all emotion.
Dimitri felt his lungs were pulled out from him through his throat. His breath stuttered, seemingly impossible to bring back to a regular, autonomous process. It was all almost too much to believe. Not only did she know where he was, she wasn't surprised in the slightest.
Delicate fingers pinched at the cookie, and the world destabilized under the shrunken prince. He dropped to the knees, and watched as he rose upwards, speeding up towards the same gaze that had been stuck on him, since they arrived. Now her eyes took up Dimitri's entire vision, dominating the field of view until it seemed as if his entire world was Edelgard.
And it was. He was utterly, hopelessly at her mercy, and it seemed she already had passed her judgement.
"W-what are you talking about!? What's going on?"
Dimitri eyed the massive towers of ivory digging into the push expanse of Edelgard's lip. He wasn't sure if it was from hesitation, or that she was actually looking forward to devouring her step-brother. Things were looking uncomfortably grim from his perch on the edge of the cookie.
"I intended for the rest of the Blue Lions to finish you off, but I suppose it's fitting for me to do what must be done."
"Y-you can't be serious..."
Unfortunately for the mite sized prince, Edelgard was deadly serious. There was nothing he could do but watch as the massive princess carried out his execution.
Edelgard's soft lips parted wide, giving the tiny Dimitri a view into the gaping void. A part of her still wanted to believe that things didn't have to turn out this way. However, she knew deep inside that there was no going back from this. One bite. That was all it had to take to make her grand, future plans far easier.
Just one bite, Edelgard.
She brought the cookie to the edge of her lips, her eyes still trained down on the shrunken prince—brought low to a crumb Finally, she closed her eyes and slowly lowered her teeth over the edge of the sweet.
Dimitri sat in horror, paralyzed as he was carried into the shadow of the massive princess' maw. Strands of saliva hung high above him. and a drop landed dangerously near him, certainly reminiscent of an incoming boulder thrown from a catapult. He looked into the thick mire that was Edelgard's tongue, knowing it would be the last place from which he would be able to see light.
He tried to turn and run, but he covered so little ground, all it did was remind him of his utter insignificance. He lacked any sort of agency or control. The light began to dim as the massive teeth closed around the cookie, locking him in dark.
The air around him stank, something heavy and musky and humid—hints of Edelgard's meal from earlier. A cold chill took over him once he realized he would join the same fate soon.
The land under him broke, and her tumbled into the rough terrain of the princess' tongue. HIs body now slick with the princess' saliva. He groaned, and tried to. stand, but the ground below was far too unstable to keep steady. A chunk of the cookie slid into his back, knocking him away, and deeper into the depth's of Edelgard's mouth.
Edelgard slowly chewed at the cookie. The last thing she wanted to feel was some sort of popping in her mouth that she could recognize as another human life. Though, she also didn't want to savor his taste at all. More cookies wouldn't hurt, she supposed.
Light returned, and Dimitri was only given a slight glimpse of the outside world, seeing another bite of boulder-like cookie coming at him. The gravity around him felt different, and a sinking feeling hit deep within him, as he began to slide further and further into the awaiting blackness of Edelgard's insides.
Powerful muscled dragged him and the cookie he was stuck to down. The horrific sounds of squelching coming fromn the wet insides, drilled deep into Dimitri's mind before a weightless feeling hit.
And with a splash, he landed into a pool of Edelgard's digestive juices, a foul tasting and smelling liquid. It splashed around him violently as more boulder's fell into it. He waded uselessly, knowing he was trapped for the short, horrific experience that would be the rest of his pathetic life. He hugged at a floating cookie and wished it was all just some strange nightmare.
As guilty as she felt to admit it, Edelgard was quite enjoying the treats. She thought about thanking Mercedes again later as she swallowed down her bite.
