Chapter #3

A gods training

    by: gtsdude Author IconMail Icon
"You know what? Even with all this training and all this battling, I'm not really seeing any sort of advancement in your skills." Sothis yawned as she leaned down on one arm of her throne, gazing down at Byleth.

"What do you mean? Of course my skills are becoming sharper! I've gotten so much stronger since coming here!" He argued, not really understanding where the sleeping deity was coming from with any of this nonsense.

"Oh please, you couldn't have even handled that monster last week without the aid of your students. Face it, you're dependent on them. I want you to be strong enough that you can challenge and defeat any foes BY YOURSELF! And I'm afraid these trivial little skirmishes won't be enough to buff you up for future conflicts!" Sothis sighed, sitting up right as she looked back down at Byleth once more.

"With all that said, I believe it's time I take your training into my hands, personally. From this point on for the rest of the month, I'll cast a very unique magic spell upon you. You'll be affected by it for the entire month, and you'll be forced to survive its afflictions on and off the battlefield, is that understood?" The green haired girl asked. Byleth stood silent for a moment or two, pondering the girl's words. Maybe she was right? Maybe he did need extra training in order to become stronger.

"Just for the month? Right?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Yup, just one month and I'll lift the spell from you." Sothis nodded, raising a brow down at the boy.

"Fine... alright, hit me with it." Byleth said confidantly, ready for his friend's little 'training' to begin.

"Glad to see you're so eager.. but.. I don't think you'll be so confident when you see what kind of spell I use on you~" Sothis giggled as she raised her arm forward, her palm facing him as a golden aura began to glow from her hand. Within a matter of seconds, the boy was blasted with a stream of powerful magic and he was sent back to the world above...

----

"G-GAAH! Byleth sat up, his heart pounding as he awoke from his dream and communion with Sothis.

"Goddess.. last time I agree to something as stupid as that..." The professor said to himself as he pushed some covers away, though finding it somewhat harder to do so. Lifting her hand up to his face, Byleth rubbed his eyes, trying to regain his eye sight for the coming day. But as things came into focus... something seemed.. different?

"Wha?! What the?!" Byleth looked in awe and wonder as the world around him had grown to gigantic sizes.. or he had shrunken, that was another possibility. Turning around, he saw that his pillow was much larger than even a house now!

"Sothis, what did you do?!" He said to himself in panic as he stood up, now seeing his own bed as a landmass now. A quick estimate put him at roughly two inches tall as he compared himself to his surroundings.

"I.. I gotta get help!" Byleth quickly ran to the edge of the bed where the blanket reached all the way down to the floor. That would be his way down, but what he didnt know is who he would try and connect with...
