She finally said. “I still got winner. But I have a wager I’d like to make.”
“Go for it,” Tom said.
“I’ve been helping a friend with a new form of dating app. If I win, you both have to try it out.”
“I’m not trying a dating app,” Tom said.
“It’ll be free,” she insisted. “And, if I lose, I’ll sleep with the one who wins.”
I could see Tom thinking about it.
"In fact, I can promise the winner a threesome tonight."
"You mean both of us and you?" Tom asked.
"Two girls, one guy."
I felt like I was getting the short end of the stick, considering Tom was up already. He looked at me, cocked his head to the side as if to say why not. I shrugged my shoulders. I wouldn’t be getting lucky unless I actually got lucky. “What’s the pro of this app?” He looked back at Erin as he asked the question. “Why would I want to try it?”
“Because I promise you’ll find someone you like and will like you back. In many ways.”
“Fuck it,” he said. “Sounds good to me.”
“Dude, you’re already up.”
“By one ball, you can still win.”
I put my head down, debating my options. I didn’t even notice Erin walking up beside me.
She leaned in to my ear, “Don’t worry, you’ll be happy at the end of the night, one way or another. I think you have this game.”
He words did give me some confidence. “Okay, deal.” She reached out her hand and I shook it. Tom did the same. He then lined up his shot, and missed.
