Deciding to go big or go home, you opt to leave your body alone for now, and instead drag the "life" option over to to the picture of the dog. The moment you let go, the figures suddenly swap places. Rather than simply switching sides, though, the dog is now standing on its hind legs, wearing the clothes you were currently wearing, while the image of you was now naked, and down on its hands and knees. You debated taking something else from the dog while you were at it, but decided this would be enough for now. If you wanted more from the dog, you could always wait until you saw it again. After all, the dog belonged to one of your neighbours, so even if you stayed in its life, your old life would be just across the street.
"Confirm," you said aloud, your heart racing as you anticipated the swap. In an instant, the world suddenly fell away, almost sickening as your point of view was moved somewhere else. You suddenly found yourself outside, staring at one of the people on the street as they walked by. For whatever reason, you felt the urge to shout at them, but suppressed the urge as you had other things to worry about. Like the fact that you were now crouched down on the ground on your hands and knees, though thankfully you could still feel the remote grasped within your hand. Stranger than your new pose, however, was the fact that you could feel the grass tickling your legs, and a breeze blowing across your entire body. Glancing down at yourself, you find the obvious reason for it; you were naked.
"Whoa," you mumble, fighting the urge to cover yourself up. Or at least, that was what you tried to say. It ended up coming out more like a dog-like growl. Your eyes widened at that revelation. "I guess I can't speak normally anymore," you bark to yourself. Strangely, you could still completely understand the words you were saying, even if they weren't coming out in English. You briefly wonder if that means you'll be able to understand other dogs now, and what it means for your ability to understand humans, but that was something to worry about later. Because right now... "It's worked!" You jump around on your hands and knees like a dog wanting to play with someone. The remote had worked, not that you doubted it after it had stopped time and brought up the holographic displays, but there was something exhilarating about that that that the world likely saw you as a dog now. Maybe being a dog wouldn't even be that good, but the fact that you could do it at all was exciting to you.
You attempt to stand up to get a better look at your surroundings, but find yourself oddly compelled to stay down. You could could stand on just your legs if you wanted to, but it felt uncomfortable to do so, like you weren't used to standing up anymore. Ultimately, you decide to you just stay on all fours for now, seeing as the grass was comfortable enough on your hands. The yard seemed mostly the same as it previously had from your window; a few shrubs dotting the edges and some dog toys strewn around. The biggest change appeared to be the dog house, which had grown to account for the fact that you were a good deal larger than the small fluffy dog it had once housed. You wonder how comfortable it would be to sleep there. You'd probably find out tonight if you didn't swap into a different life again before then.
Deciding you may as well check out your new accommodations, you crawl your way over towards the dog house, finding it a little awkward to walk on all fours while still carrying the remote. Perhaps you'd need to perform a swap to give you access to pockets again later on, but for now it wasn't too big an inconvenience. Before heading to the dog house itself, you briefly stop at the water bowl in front of it, glancing down at your reflection. To your surprise, reflected on the water's surface is not your own face, but rather that of the dog you'd swapped with. The reflection did its best to mirror or surprised expressions with its doggy features. You supposed that must be how people saw you now. At least that'd be helpful if you swapped with another human later on. You could only imagine the difficulty you'd have trying to look good to everyone else as a woman if you only had your male body as a reference. Moving on from that, you approach the dog house again, only to stop as you see the name plastered above the opening.
"P-Princess!?" you shout, surprised by your new name. That didn't sound like the name of a male dog. You quickly glance between your legs to confirm that your little buddy is still there, and thankfully find it is still hanging there. "So, I'm a girl dog, but my body is still a boy?" you mumble to yourself, dog-like barks still coming out of your mouth. You weren't sure how to feel about this. Sure, the idea of becoming a woman may have been exciting, but you didn't know if you wanted to be a female dog. On one hand, it shouldn't really matter what gender you were, a dog was a dog, but on the other, you felt like it might be a little much being treated like a dog and like a girl all at once. At least for now, perhaps it wouldn't feel as strange once you were more used to swapping all over the place with the remote. Besides, there were plenty of other things you could swap with now that you knew the remote worked on animals, so why stick to this one life you felt a little iffy about?
You glance back over at your house across the street, up at your window, only to find it deserted. You growl to yourself in annoyance. The dog in your life obviously had no reason to keep staring out the window now that it didn't have the remote, so it must have gone back inside to do something. Now you were in a predicament. You silently curse whoever decided to not give the remote an undo button. You briefly pondered what you should do next. You could always just stick to Princess's life for now. It wasn't like being a dog was uncomfortable or anything, you just felt a bit weird about being a girl and a dog and having a human, male body all at once. Then again, it wasn't as if you needed to go from Princess's life directly back into your own. You may be stuck in the yard as Princess, but there were still a handful of people walking down the street. If you swapped with one of them, you could go knock on your door and hopefully swap back with yourself that way. Heck, you could probably even just wait for one of your family to walk outside and swap with them. Sure, whoever you swapped with would be stuck as a dog for the time being, but it wasn't as if they'd notice any difference. You look down at the remote still grasped firmly within your hand, shivering slightly in the breeze as you wondered what you should do.
