As Deku approached the dorms he heard a series of splashing, followed by some sounds of celebration from the woods around the dorms.
Following the sound Deku found his friend and classmate Mina Ashido standing in the forest, seemingly having just melted a rock using her acid quirk.
"Hey Mina!" Deku said with a smile
"Hm? Oh! What's up Izuku?! Did you see what I did?" she said with a giant grin as she pointed to the melted rock
"Yeah! Out here practicing your abilities? Trying to make your quirk stronger?"
"Well duh! Of course I am! We should all be right? Hey! Wanna train with me? Uh-- I mean, not like... we use our quirks against each other. That would probably be dangerous. But like me and you just use our powers together and give each other pointers as to what we see being done wrong!"
"Sounds great!" Deku boomed, knowing this was the perfect opportunity for him to test his new ability on Mina.
"Alright! Awesome! I'll start!"
Mina fired a blast of acid at another rock. It splashed onto it and slowly melted it, but only half of it.
"Aw dammit!" she grumbled
"Why didn't you get closer? Your abilities would be easier to aim from closer, and a rock won't fight back. Treat it like an unaware enemy. Or even a lock you need to melt! It's better to get closer!" Deku tutored
"That makes a ton of sense! Thanks!" she giggled "Your turn! Show me what you can do Deku!"
Deku smiled as he held up his hand and pointed his index finger. It glowed green briefly, as did Mina's eyes in response. As the power faded and Mina's eyes reverted to normal she stood there slack and motionless as she stared blankly ahead
"Mina. If you can hear me just hop once." he said.
"Yes...Master..." Mina said in a dreamy voice before bouncing in place once.
