You set Jessica down and without saying a word, scoop up Anna with one hand.

"Hey, what the hell are you doing?" Emma screams up at you. "I'm not finished with her yet."

"Yes you are," you tell Emma, poking her with a fingertip just hard enough to knock her on her butt. Her mouth is wide open, shocked at what you've done, but you got your point across. No matter what her position was yesterday, today you're the one calling the shots.

As you carry Anna away, she finally begins to uncurl.

"Where are you taking me?" she asks.
