Chapter #6

Fusion?

    by: AridWD Author IconMail Icon
There was a crazy curiosity swirling in Tracy's eyes. So much that Emma felt rather disturbed. Whatever her girlfriend's offer would be, she had a bad feeling.

"Fusion."

One simple word, but to Emma, she had no clue what to think about it.

Seeing the confusion on the overweight mother's eyes, Tracy clarifies with a cough.

"What I mean, I heard it's possible for two people to combine to form a newer person. Instead of you taking over me or god forbid, me taking over you, wouldn't it be better to take the best of us and live our life like that?"

Emma shivers. "F-fuse? W-why would you want to fuse with me?!"

Emma finally stands up although with much difficulty. Her bones ache, her body is filled with wrinkles. She's definitely not in the prime of her youth. To hear that this young girl wants to fuse with her seemed like a joke and she felt insulted.

"Look at me!" Emma shouts, her eyes teary, "...I made some wrong turns and you think it's funny to try taking the 'best' of me? What's left?!"

"Ssh!" Tracy panics and presses her lips. Then she hears her mother calling.

"Tracy? Is everything alright over there? I hope you and your boyfriend aren't-"

Tracy peeked out of her doorway to reassure her mother. "It's fine, mom! Sorry for the noise!"

Quickly shutting the door, she sighs and glares at Emma more annoyed. Although she should be more respectful and normally she is, it's hard to do so when seeing your mother's true colors and desires.

Yet, it's a valid question. Why would she want to merge with her boyfriend's mother?

"Why you ask? Maybe I think it'll be interesting. If we will strong enough, we can even separate from each other if it doesn't work out."

"I-interesting? Is my life a game to you, Tracy?"

Tracy frowns, then lowers her head. She knows that she's being rude, even if it's not intended.

"Look...again, I'm sorry Mrs. Keith," she apologizes more formally, "...but I think your life hasn't been all that bad. You were quite beautiful back then and...even if your son's attitude is bad, you still love him. It's a different bond that might make mine and your son's relationship grow even more."

Emma frowns, but she feels a little better hearing Tracy's attitude shift. Of course, she's in the wrong too so she knew she couldn't be demanding.

She asks, "What's wrong with your current status? I heard my son talking about you a lot. You two are on good terms too. I'm actually seeing that in the future, you two might even marry!"

To hear that from her boyfriend's mother, Tracy does feel somewhat grateful. Naturally, Emma has always been supportive of their relationship, but perhaps because it's so obvious.

"There's nothing wrong per say...and if I didn't believe this bracelet would work, we wouldn't be here, but...this might be the perfect chance to know my boyfriend on a deeper level."

Emma shivers, then gulps. "But...if we are together, wouldn't that mean you'll be his..."

"...mother?" Tracy finishes, then narrows her eyes as she thinks, "...maybe...or maybe not? I'm not sure why you're worried about that considering you were about to live my life."

"T-that's different! I was you! There's no relation to my son in your body!"

"...and it might be the same when we are together, right? We'll be a completely different person!"

"That's..."

Emma still feels rather anxious about the possibility...or perhaps she's just fearful of losing herself.

Yet...that liveliness, that youth...if she could experience that again...

"A-alright Tracy."

Emma turns her head to your unconscious body on the floor and curls her lips. "What about my son?"

Looking at her boyfriend, Tracy pursues her lips and hums.

If the fusion is successful and her grandmother's words she remembers is true, then the fusion should develop from the best point of their lives meaning she may not age ten or more years. That's a big if though.

Tracy understands well the risk she's taking, yet having just been a part of Emma for a little bit as she was part of her, it's something she's willing to risk.

As for you, it might be possible to downplay everything, especially if they move you elsewhere. Or, they could be honest with you with their plans to see your reaction.

Keeping it a secret means that you wouldn't know if the resulting fusion is comprised of your mother and girlfriend. The fusion could be anything she wants to be.

Of course, there's not just you but there's also her mother, your father and sister. If she or Emma is discovered to be missing, it could pose a problem.

Tracy definitely didn't want to see her mother thinking she was dead.

'Oof...this is more complicated than I thought.'

Yet, it's unpredictable and exciting!

What are Tracy's plans?
