Many citizens in Juniper Town advised against traveling to the outskirts, for fear of some dangerous outlaws. However, there are a few that ignore those orders, either because they're too young to comprehend the danger, or they're sick of staying in town all the time, or they're looking for something on the outskirts... maybe a few are even enamored with the danger. As for the Espurr stepping out of town, he grew sick of the very strict practices his parents kept him under. They wanted to make sure he kept proper posture, always walked at a specific pace, always at in a specific way... He wanted to keep away from his mom and dad and just use this moment to really stretch his muscle. Already he was beginning his rebellion, increasing the pace of his steps and decreasing at seemingly random intervals, all while swaying side to side.
He was getting farther and farther from the village, all the better to keep away from his parents after all. He also made sure to leave under the cover of night so his dark fur would blend in more. He didn't seem to understand just how dangerous this was... so maybe it was time for a reminder.
He was soon a good mile away from the town gates, and he could see, on top of some grass beside the path, there were several large rocks Pokémon used to lounge about on their hike. The Espurr decided it was time to rest his little feet, so he stepped off the path and towards one of the large rocks, being forced to leap up so he could land butt first on it. He sighed and began massaging his paws a little, trying to calm them down. He took a moment to suck in some fresh air, air untainted by the many citizens cluttering the town. He sniffed some more, closing his eyes to enjoy the loneliness. However, as he sniffed, he picked up anther scent... He didn't recognize that smell, so his eyes opened up curiously, and he began scanning around.
"You seem lost, little one~" he heard a voice say. It sounded feminine, and had a certain purr to it. The Espurr's head snapped around, trying to get a reading on where that voice came from.
"N-no!" he declared. "Who are you?!"
"Now, now, you're the stranger here, I think I reserve the right to ask a few questions," he heard. "You say you're not lost, eh? What brings you out here?"
"I-I was trying to be alone," he answered, now standing up on the rock and looking around, looking out for this weirdo. He was met with a soft chuckle.
"Alone?" she said with a tone of bemusement. "Why would you want to be alone out here? Hasn't mommy and daddy told you about the monsters lingering out here?" This time, he thought he heard a rustle in the grass, likely a sneaky creep. He turned towards the grass, and held his hands to his temples, preparing a psychic attack. He focused on the place that rustling grass came from, summoned up the psychic energy of a Confusion strike, and centered it on that point. However, he didn't feel the attack connect with anything.
"I tend to have my crew with me, but, to be honest, sometimes I find I'm my own best friend~" He then saw something rise up out of the grass, it uncomfortably close to the rock field. She was a fairly big feline, the back of her coat being a dark purple, dotted with yellow rosettes. She also seemed to bear pink marking around her eyes akin to domino mask. Her under fur was more yellow, the purple around her fur ending around the ankles to giveway to yellow fur. Most people in Juniper Town would recognize this as a Liepard. This particular one was known as Mercedes, a wicked outlaw.
She stepped closer, and the Espurr attempted another psychic attack, only for another rustle of grass to attract him. Looking towards it he saw... another Mercedes? Another noise came from behind him, and again, he saw Mercedes. Mercedes here, Mercedes there, Mercedes everywhere, nearly forming a ring around them. He summoned up his confusion powers, and frantically struck one of them, only for them to fade into darkness as if they never existed. He turned towards another approaching one and attempted again, but it disappeared too. He kept trying to hit them, but they each seemed to just fade at the attack.
Before he could pull off one more strike, the Liepards faded away, all except for one, which leapt up and rammed a forepaw into the Espurr's chest, shoving him down and pinning him against the rock beneath. He squirmed about, kicking his legs and trying to lift her leg with his hands. He kept struggling even as she chuckled. Then, she leaned down, lolling her tongue out of her mouth, and dragged it up his face, causing him to shiver with disgust as her saliva stained him.
"Tasty~" she cooed out.
