The Good Ship Ogygia gently rolled into the sleepy harbor of Juniper Town just before dawn could break. The inhabitants of the little village lied sleeping in their beds, not knowing that, after so many moths of drought and troubles, hope had come back into their lives. The ship docked in their waters was the home of the acclaimed and famous Pokemon Guild! Their Sigilyph detected their plight, and arrangements were made to set course to the slowly dying hamlet. Now that they were here, things would surely pick up!
The Oygia’s Cabin Boy, a rather diminutive and young Riolu, was tasked of alerting their captain that they had made port. Although that was normally a job for the ship’s first mate and not some lowly ranking errand boy, he was the captains favorite errand boy, and seeing him always put her in a good mood. And they needed her in her highest spirits possible to start the day off right.
The tiny jackall Pokemon descended down the many stairs of the massive ship into the lowest section of the Oygia. It was dark and poorly lit, and something always had to be repaired as the wood was rotten and soggy. In the farthest end of the stern lied the ship’s Lazarette, which doubled as the captain’s quarters. With a heavy inhale of breath, the Riolu pushed the heavy, double doors and entered the sanctum of their guild leader.
He had thought after seeing her so many times, he would get used to her appearance. But every time he opened the door to Captain Calypso's Lazarette, he was utterly blown away by how immense she was. The room was lavishly decorated with pretty little things that sparkled, a worthy collection gathered from their exploits on the high seas. In the middle of the room was an open body of water, and in that body of water was the Milotic called Calypso.
The gigantic and obese serpent Pokemon smiled down at her favorite cabin boy as he took in the sheer excess of her frame. Years of dealing out due punishment on the scum of the waves had left her more than well fed. Her body was so huge and so powerful, she acted as her ship’s own rudder, moving the gigantic structure that housed her guild with ease and speed.
“Captain Calypso!” The small Riolu gave his captain a proper salute, always a little on edge in her presence. No because she was scary to him, quite the opposite! The little jackal thought she looked stunning, which made him feel rather weird and unsure of himself. “We’ve arrived at Juniper Town, thank you for guiding us a safe journey once again!”
“Ahhh…” Calypso opened her mouth to speak, an angelic and soothing feminine voice erupting out as she slithered her body towards the her diminutive employee. She pressed her lardy snout into his chest in an affectionate nuzzle, putting a reluctant smile on the Riolu’s face. “You are quite welcome, my little one. Now, if you would please, may you set up the preparations for my sunrise speech?” She batted her eyelids at him, her sparkling eyes calming his soul and putting him a state of tranquility.
“Mph, of course Captain Calypso!” The Little Riolu saluted once again, this time with genuine enthusiasm, and ran out of the Lazarette to tell the crew their new orders. Calypso smiled and sank beneath the waves of her ship, swimming out of her quarters and into the harbor of a Juniper Town.
An hour later, the sun had come up, and the Pokémon of Juniper Town had gathered around the dock. The Pokémon Guild was here! They were saved! The crew of the Oygia made way for their captain’s Cabin Boy as the Riolu climbed up the stairs to a makeshift stage. “People of Juniper Town!” He yelled out as far as his little lungs would let him. “Give a round of cheer for our captain, Calypso!”
The waters behind the makeshift stage parted to reveal a massive, stunning Milotic around the size of her own ship. The morning sun’s light bounced off spectacularly from her fat scales, making her gleam with color and shine. The crowd around the dock erupted into applause at the little light show, and Calypso gave out a warm smile as she reached herself for her speech.
“My fellow Pokémon,” she began with a calm tone. “Thank you all so much for being patient with us. We are sorry that we did not come sooner in your time if need. Now, however, we are here, and we are here to help. I promise you all, this town will once again be known for it’s beautiful flowers and crops, and the culprit behind this drought will be brought to justice!” Her little speech ended in a big finish after rising tempo, the Milotic shaking her expansive form to emphasize the punishment that the culprit will receive.
The crows once again bursted Into cheer, this time much more loud. All was good now, as long as the Oygia stayed in their docks. After some fanfare, the crowd dispersed back into Juniper Town, and exploration teams began teaming the streets, looking for ways that they can help. Calypso smiled at the affair play out, happy that she could be of help…
...and that her belly would soon be full of delicious troublemakers.
What is Calypso’s first order of business?
