It was once or twice a day that the Pokemon nearest to the town’s train track were treated to the sound of the cute, quaint little trains gently chugging along towards the station. Most of the times, they just bring food to feed all the hungry bellies of the town. Other times, though, they bring a fresh load of passengers and new faces to the humble village of Juniper Town.
The train’s horn let out a cute toot-toot as it slowly slid to a stop at the train station, its many moving steel parts creaking to a stand still. It clicked and clanked and settled where it was for a while… before finally, one of the thick wooden doors slid open by themselves… revealing a chubby flygon! He was dressed in a fancy tweed vest and a matching bowler hat, looking out nervously over the town as he stepped onto the platform.
Well, here we are. Juniper Town. New beginnings. No need to be so anxious, Samuel… everything will turn out just fine here…
You, the flygon in question, try to think soothing thoughts to yourself as you meander off the train station, immediately almost being overwhelmed with just how many Pokemon of all shapes and sizes there were chatting and walking around! You had grown up in a small little town in the mountains, so having to squeeze your way through such crowded streets was new to you!
You gave sheepish smiles and little greetings to the Pokemon your chubby form accidentally bumped into, as you attempted to navigate your way through the large town. You had just come from Woodruff Village, after you felt like trying to find a new life in a larger town would be the best way to pursue your dreams…
First things first, though. You have to find a place to stay for at least the night. You have a satchel thrown over your shoulder which contains food, clothing, and seventy-five pokés, which would be enough to rent a room for a week back in Woodruff Village.
Eventually, you stumble into the cheapest, smallest little inn you could find, panting a bit in relief as you finally escape the bustling crowds. You nervously adjust your vest as you glance over into the eyes of the massive, fat purugly behind the counter, glaring at you with a severely unimpressed look.
“Ummm… hello, miss!” You give her a sheepish smile as you take a step closer, sweat dripping down your forehead. “I’m new to this lovely town, and I was just thinking of inquiring as to how much a room would cost for the night?”
“A hundred-fifty pokés,” she growls, simply.
“Oh… oh dear…” You’re a little taken about. A hundred fifty a night…? Back in your village, an inn like this would be closer to ten! Your anxiety spikes as it fully dawns on you just how much more expensive everything around here was going to be…! “Hmm. I shall be back!”
You stumble out of the hotel, thinking. You had to make at least enough money to sleep somewhere for the night. After that, you could find long-term options… “Now, where can one find employment around here on such short notice…?” You said, munching on a poffin from your satchel to calm your nerves… until your eyes suddenly happen to land on a big wooden board nearby! “Oh! The help wanted board! Of course!”
You trotted up to the board, looking over all of the assignments that you could do in just this afternoon, all of which would give you just enough to get that inn room for the night. Hmmm… there’s a job from a delphox whose daughter wants to learn to be a chef, and needs a taste tester… and one from the eating contest, who needs someone to announce each contest...
