It was not the white Sandy beaches or the deep blue ocean waves that Evan saw when he pulled into a parking lot next to the coast. What he first saw was an enormous snow leopard waddle. A quarter ton of lard wobbled and jiggled as the fur slowly plodded along, fat oozing out from underneath his tight swim trunks. Evan had to take a moment and gawk at the fur. Never before in his life had he see a fur so massively obese, so incredibly fat. The lion even saw, as the fur was waddling away, that his tail too was somehow fat as well looking like a long, plump sausage hanging lazily over the snow leopard's mammoth rump.
As Evan walked along the beach, however, he learned that the snow leopard fit right in. Many of the furs he witnessed were at some stage of obesity. Even furs that had hulking biceps and pecs still sported enormous guts. The lion, it appeared, was the odd one out as he made his was up the beach in his swimming shorts, a white towel hanging over a bare shoulder. Most of the northern parts of the beach we're sectioned off for tourists; resorts privatized those pars of the coasts for their customers. Only when Evan approached these parts of the coast did he begin to see furs his size again.
It took a moment for the initial shock of seeing so many furs so grossly overweight to wear off. But Evan's thoughts returned to the beach. This was the first time in his life he had ever been. Because his hometown was right in the center of the country, any trips to the coast would have taken several days just to travel there. So growing up, Evan's folks couldn't take him or his siblings to see the ocean.
But that was then. Evan finally got to see the ocean!
The lion was overwhelmed with possibilities about what to do. Obviously, he wanted to take a dip in the ocean. The water was mostly empty sans a few heavy furs lazily paddling around. The lion could laid down his towel and do a bit of sunbathing. Evan always liked the slightly darker hue his gold and cream fur would take on with enough sunrays.
While walking along the coast, Evan did spot a nice ice cream shop built right up to the sands. It was getting to get really warm, and a cone did sound good at the moment.
Evan didn't know anyone in town. Of course, it was his first day in the city. But it's never too soon to start making acquaintances. He might want to strike up a conversation with one of the locals.
